    Just a little intro.

This forum is for D&D and other pen and paper RPG systems ranging from the original Dungeons and Dragons in 1974 all the way up to the most recent games.

If you've never played RPGs, this basically consists of a set of back and forth posts between one poster who controls the world (the Game Master) and posters taking on the roles of specific main characters in the world (the Players).

A good simple example is the Vampire game here:
    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057840366

Each game has a set of rules (usually revolving around rolling dice) that aid the Game Master in simulating the world. These rules vary from quite simple, can be learned in an hour, to very complex, requiring a couple of days to learn.

Here are some of the previously run and proposed games:

Shadowrun: Cyberpunk world where magic and elves have returned
Call of Cthulhu: Occult 1920s "Great Gatsby" style mystery
Dungeons and Dragons: The original and classic. Fantasy adventure where the characters risk their life for fun and coin.
Vampire the Masquerade: The amoral world of the undead who need to do terrible things to survive and the constantly dangerous politcal games they play with eachother
Deadlands: The American Wild West, but the history is not our own. Hell and magic have returned to the lands West of the Mississippi.

If you want to get involved, there is a discussion forum in the main Forum Games forum, so you can introduce yourself to the community and/or request a pointer on how to join a current or upcoming game.

Alternatively, you can send a PM to whomever is the current game master (or to the Forum mods Sullivlo/Pter)

PLEASE DO NOT POST IN A GAME THREAD WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING ONE OF THE ABOVE PEOPLE.
