    42 here this year.

Trained lots of clients that have gotten in great shape later in life at all age ranges

None have focused on running solely as its a very short sighted way to view fitness and all put their energy into getting more mobile/flexible, little stronger and much more conditioned through the use of a wide rage of activities of which SOME running was one part of that.

Get the balance between all three aspects of fitness and it will serve you well as opposed to conditioning solely

My dad... although his situation is slightly different. He ran a marathon back in the 80s. Back before jogging was a thing. His neighbours used to think he was nuts running away from his house and coming back two hours later dripping in sweat. He had a new niggling injuries for a few years but eventually a calf strain in one leg and torn achilles in the other ruled him out for what seemed like forever.

He kept up walking and a little bit of cycling, but jogging was his true love. When I signed up for the DCM in 2012, he decided to have one last hurrah at 61 years of age and train for it too. And he finished 4 minutes behind me. He loved it so much that he ended up running 3-4 marathons or half marathons a year until last year when his knees eventually gave up.

It's a shame that illness has held you back for so long. But honestly, age is just a number. Have fun
