.........If a letter arrives addressed to you and the stamp hasn't been cancelled, do you ever reuse it?

A number of Christmas cards had stamps not cancelled on the envelope this year.

Just wondering was it illegal to reuse an uncancelled stamp?

No I would normally cut it off the letter and bring it back to the post office, that or I’d post it back to the sender so they could reuse it

12 ordered. That'll cover packages and letters overseas for a year.

Are these not just for national letters? Can you use them for international letters too if you add a 50 cent stamp to them for example?

I’ve just ordered 16 for my mother. Can I assure her that each stamp will cover the postage on a letter to her sister in N Ireland ?

Are postage rates going up again soon?

I guess these have no “use by” date, if they put the price up just buy the extra stamp.

That would be a waste of money.

Thank you and blast it anyway... I sent a few Christmas cards to NI and thought it was €1.50.
But you've saved me a euro or too for Xmas 2019!

Offer is running in the post offices too from the 4th to the 15th February. No need for money-off coupon like last year.

Anyone know how long orders take to arrive?
I'm in the cheap seats - free delivery not the €8 registered one.

Going by this the W stamp price is going up
    https://www.irishstamps.ie/Shop/p-1841-phase-ii-w-international-booklet.aspx

First posts has price lists showing international rates of €1.50

Second post has 10 international stamps for €15.

    No increase there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,403 ✭✭✭✭vicwatson

Could I use one of these on an A4 brown envelope to send a couple of cards to the one address?

The international stamps are going up to €1.70 soon, see the announcement here - https://www.anpost.com/Media-Centre/News/An-Post-announces-Pricing-for-2019

However, if your €1.50 stamps have W on them rather than a price then they’ll still be valid. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re “out of stock” for the next few weeks though!!

If it’s under 100g and maximum size of the envelope is C5 you can

Got mine yesterday - brought me right back to a stamp-collecting period in my young days, that little waxy envelope they were packaged in.

    Ahhh, the nostalgia!

Sending a Christmas card with a Valentines stamp might look a bit strange though.

The love and marriage stamp is really nice and would suit any occasion. Have bought 3 booklets.
