I'm off to Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans in a fortnight for a fortnight, can't feckin wait.
Moving jobs so took the chance to take a few weeks off, will also give me time to get on top of things around the farm

There is a good armory outside Nashville, if you want try out some heavy metal. And the Jim Beam distillery is also an hour South. Nashville is good. New Orleans is brilliant.
I was to go out there last year to my brother who lives in Jackson, Mississippi again, but was just too busy. Hoping to go this year tho

3 kids under 4 here so not expecting much. Hoping to get couple of nights away for paddy’s weekend. Couple of weddings in summer and maybe a night of two somewhere else that be it I reckon

Off to France as usual in August for 10 days of reading a book in the swimming pool and visiting a few farms and eat well and drink wine.

I intended bringing youngest to the Natural History Museum in London in January as a treat for his well earned final results in Uni during the Summer but unfortunately he was busy working. Calving season has arrived and I'm busy, hopefully we can make the trip during the Summer.
Otherwise I'm looking forward to the next few months as I'll be doing what I love best - rearing sucks, which equates to my yearly holiday.

J*sus, could do with one, will get away for a long weekend to a wedding in a few months. Its tough being up at night with animals, sometimes its the thought of the odd little break keeps me going.

Doing a low budget holiday this year to the sister in law in Jersey for a week in August. Its a fabulous spot to visit and not that far.

Deposit paid this week on our first family Ski holiday in Italy in Feb 2019 - really looking forward to that one!!

I have a skiing holiday booked for the family in Austria for just after next Christmas! It's a surprise too. Nobody knows about it and it will be unveiled as a Christmas present in some way, i.e. Happy Christmas now pack your bags we're leaving in a couple of days!! :D

It's costing me an arm and a leg as its a kinda nice place. But I don't mind as it's also our 10th wedding anniversary around the same time and we went to the same place skiing as part of our honeymoon.

The problem is I have to save like hell to pay for it but pretend like I still have the same money as usual. I'm waiting for herself to suggest a 2 week holiday abroad during the Summer high season!

Its a lovely place jersey it has a lot of history my mother was born in Saint Auban her parents got out before the germans landed they went to Dorset went back after the war was over. Her father mother couldn't stand the place when they went back he was very upset by the whole thing so they bought a shop in Kilkenny a green grocer retired in the mid 1980s. I have been over a couple of times not that far to travel .

You would get more than a clip. Pete Hanley has got a lot of work from him over the years I hear.

We've bought a mobile home in a popular West Clare seaside resort. Will probably be holidaying there a lot for the next 20 years!

Made it one of my new yrs resolutions to travel in Ireland more this yr ha, spent most my childhood holidays in Dingle, gotta go back there, never been to Donegal yet either, Aran Islands look well cool also. Weather the main lottery with all that, so may do a few lastmin long weekends over the summer.

Happened to be talked to a friend in a WhatsApp group during the week, he lives in London and was in Paris at the time, but only for the day!, on a work trip, I had to laugh at him and say I hadn't let the farm here in at least 3days. I've given up a ski trip with all them because they can only go in early March, defo doesn't suit me with calving. I'll definitely escape later in the year, and do get away more often than some of yous here I know, but still, as a full time farmer the last 6 yrs I've certainly given up alot of possible trips away.

My mother has a mobile in Lahinch. It's a great escape to have. The kids love it up there and we can go there for a weekend or a night or two at a time as we live fairly close by anyway.
If only we could get a good Summer!!!

Doing it for the young lad here too. I want to get him out of Limerick in the summer hols before he gets bad habits! Also the mobile is nearer the farm than where we live so win win all round. I reckon we are overdue a good summer all the rain is out of the way.

Away next week with the clan. Looking forward to it. Have to say I'm exhausted. Not really going to be relaxing or drinking like feck but a change of scenery is badly wanted.

I'm so jealous. We went away for a night last week and one of the kids had a vomiting bug. Came home more tired than I went

I’ve a bachelor working for me, 57, lives alone. 18 cows on a tough bit of land which seems to be a mixture of rock and bog.

He goes for a week once and occasionally twice a year. Uses the travel department in Dublin. Italy, Spain, France, Portugal all done, he was talking about Croatia recently. He’s part of a local walking club and goes away with them in Ireland for a few weekends, often the only man among maybe 20 women he was saying but he doesn’t care a bit.
He has a great attitude, says that just because he wasn’t married doesn’t mean he needs to spend his whole life feeding cows and cutting rushes.

Going to Seattle for a week playing a tournament there then up to Calgary and catching the first day of the Stampede then up to Edmonton to visit friends and then a day in Toronto on the way home. Except for Calgary I have people to stay with. Wouldn’t be able to afford it otherwise.

Top of my bucket list so post lots of photos please. We were in Calgary for a week on honeymoon and I'd move there in the morning if I could. Fantastic people there. Enjoy it.

We're off to Galway for a few days next month to do a bit of sightseeing and visit a few friends on the way up and down, hopefully.

Now now Buford you could be upsetting a lot of boardsie members lol.

Off to Waterford next weekend for a wedding, hardly call it a break, it's a fair treck followed by a late night I suspect so I'll be wrecked coming home

Cover pit tonight. Hit for the airport in the morning. No early mornings for 11days. Hanging for it at this stage. Thought the weather wasn't going to cooperate.
