    A lot of North America's concentrates are made here. PepsiCo is a huge company globally and cork is an important link in the chain.

    I don't get the OP's point. Sugar is sugar. It's doesn't have a flavour in and of itself, other than being sweet.

    Yes it does. Depending on the level of refinement there’s absolutely a flavour.
