Heavy dinner plate snow in North Kildare, sticking to all surfaces. ninja snow, you can't beat it!

Going by local topography, the snowline, were snow is settling on all surfaces, appears to be slightly over 100m as there is a slight thaw on the roads where I am located, just under 90m. Another shower is approaching from the West so I need this to be good and heavy to stop the thaw!

Clear and sunny in north Kildare @ about 90m. Snow has thawed on the roads and pavements and is slowly retreating up the hill in the fields. Different story up on the hill @ about 140m - about 3cm of snow and extremely icy however the hill is well known for it's own microclimate. A local road traverses right over the top of it so I can often get my snow fix by travelling a very short distance.

Temp was about 0c until recently but is now up to 0.7c. Of interest is a pretty extensive shower heading this way which looks like the biggest shower so far. I can see the cloud from this from my living room window so will be interesting to see if this renews the snow cover here. Looks like I will get about 15 minutes of moderate to heavy snow. In any case, I would say that'll be last of it around these parts for the day.

I may be able to try my 3rd attempt of travelling to work in an hour or so....hopefully won't end up a ditch this time!!!

Jet black cloud now bearing in on me from the west. Radar returns still look excellent. I'm expecting a very rapid drop in temperature when the snow begins. Currently a balmy 1.5c!
