Pea protein makes m gain weight

    I was on whey for a year and it was making my skin blotchy and gave me breakouts. Now I'm on pea protein instead, skin looks great but it's giving me excessive stomach fat. Is this a side effect of pea protein? In some cases of body building abit of weight gain is fine but to me all my fat goes to my stomach. Work my stomach harder now or get of pea protein and try hemp?

    It is one of the highest fat containing protein supplements so I wouldn't be surprised. It also contains a lot of carbohydrates. The problem with pea protein is that is very difficult to separate the real protein from the rest during the manufacturing compared with the whey protein, which is almost a byproduct of the cheese industry.
    I recommend you eating less and doing more sports.

    Pea protein contains calories. Too many calories will make you gain fat.

    No one food will make you fat. If you consume too many calories, you put on weight.
