Congrats on the offer! You’re probably preparing for interview and busy now but just wondering with regards to application ( applying to another 3). Do you have substantial legal experience? or an interesting extra curricular activity or simply an all round high achiever? I’m in my 3rd year applying to internships now have a upper class 2.1 across the board, strong work experience and substantial volunteering and achievements etc but I don’t think I have anything that really makes me stand out..... any help would be appreciated !! and good luck

Having done A.C. interview last year for the internship and for the traineeship this year, for the group interview you will get a discussion topic. My advice would be not to talk just for the sake of it, only contribute worthwhile info otherwise you just appear to be trying to be heard. Don't be nervous, you'll do best by treating it as a discussion and not regurgitating generic answers

Has anyone done Matheson or Byrne Wallace interview before? If so, any advice welcome.

Also, is Matheson one round or two? And is there a case study?

BW interview for me before was with about 5 others and competency based, we each had to pick 2 that we wanted to answer on. It was kind of like an individual interview just with other people there. I think the competencies were teamwork, using initiative and motivated, decision making, and organising. And then we each got asked why law and why BW.

Don't try show off legal knowledge because the chances are they'll pick holes in it. Have good current affairs knowledge and be able to have a conversation as if over a coffee. The more relaxed you are the better you'll come across

Yes definitely a good idea to go. I went last year. You'll most likely meet the partners who are going to interview you. The trainees who attend give some really helpful tips too (or so I found!)
