That bassline is so like 'She's Strange' by Cameo.

Welshy, that's quite disturbing. So is the fact that you knew where to find it. Just saying. ..

I take it tonight's episode went down well with the boys but not for any musical content?

Is it worth my while watching it later?

Just finished watching the Joan Armatrading documentary on BBC4.

Like the artist herself,a lot included but a lot left unsaid.

It glossed over her departure from Glynn Johns, should have had more on Me Myself I (imo her best album since Joan Armatrading).

Still nothing on her sexuality, I agree it's her business but I think it's an essential part of her songwriting.

Good to see Pam Nestor interviewed, once again that split seemed to be underplayed (although it was touching to see Pam watching an old OGWT from 1973 with Joan crediting Pam with one of her songs).

OK I plead an interest here as I adored Joan Armatrading for many years and still think she is one of Britain's supreme music talents.

The scary thing is that, a few dodgy outfits and haircuts aside, none of these songs sound out of place forty years later. It's rather as if we were then in 1974 bopping along to Gracie Fields and Geraldo and his Orchestra

This "Top Of The Pops – The Story of 1981" is rather intertaining :)

Nile Rodgers on ‘Pointless Celebrities’ right now  :D

I got a text from my mother the other day to tell me he was on The One Show.

    He's all anyone's talking about.

I'm in the pub here, half expecting to see him inside holding court.

Jeebus, not wanting to establish a weird theme here (following my 'misreading' post the other day), nor to depart from, eh, BeekWok, but I just heard Jonathan Woss say "If you've got small kids you may want to get them out of the room", with his distinctive mispronounciation of the 'r'... :P
