Really enjoyed the christie MCvie fleetwood mac documentary

Happy I saw them live in 2015 and not the current up although the 2 new guys sound good but Buckingham is Fleetwood mac to me

The 2 guys they got the first time Lindsey left were smug as hell

Europe must have cleaned up from Sports Stadium using that as their music for most of the 80s and into the 90s.

That's a rare good use of the licence fee .

Primal Scream...never have a band owed so much to a producer. Just my opinion of course.

The naturalist, environmentalist and life-long punk reveals how, as a teenager with undiagnosed Asperger's, punk rock may have saved his life. By giving him a purpose, he was able to harness his creativity, which led to him becoming a TV presenter with a determination to champion wildlife. In a highly personal and revelatory film, Chris sets out to question both himself and other former punks who, like him, rocked against racism, fought for gay rights and caused their parents untold grief, to discover if the values they all believed in still hold true today

All the stars who died in the 2010s, mostly in 2016

10.30pm Punk Britannia At The BBC (BBC4)

9pm Doolin Folk Festival (BBC Alba)
More of the same on tomorrow on the same channel at 10pm. After the Sheepdog trials.

10.15pm Other Voices/ Gwyl Lleisiau Eraill

Craig is back 10 days after his concert on BBC1

    Sunday
9pm Genesis – When In Rome (Sky Arts)

10.55pm Phil Collins - Going Back (Sky Arts)
Phil sings Motown with some of the Funk Brothers

11.30pm Arena: Desert Island Discs (BBC4)
To mark 75 years of the Radio 4 stalwart, another chance to see this 1982 Bafta-winning documentary that celebrated the 40th anniversary of the long-running Radio 4 show created and hosted by Roy Plomley. Featuring contributions by Paul McCartney, Frankie Howerd, Trevor Brooking, JK Galbraith, Russell Harty and Arthur Askey

And that's about that. There is also The Glenn Miller Story starring James Stewart (Sony Movies, Saturday Night 12.35am). I saw it once, it was alright. You would want to be in the mood for it.
    Sorry. Very sorry.

It think it might be an homage to the classic Liverpool away jersey from a few years earlier, as modelled here by Ian Rush

Punk at the BBC on BBC 4 now

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Dr Feelgood and Eddie and the Hot Hods are not punk, they are proto-punk Pub Rock but that term is so devalued by actual "pub rock" that no one uses it. They were r 'n b when that term still had some sort of meaning.

Midge Ure reminiscing about Phil Lynott on BBC4 there reminds me of what a banger Yellow Pearl was (after Midge remixed it)
