Hi fitness gurus, just wondering if anyone would have a recommendation for a good supplement to help give me an extra bit of energy.

So basically I work shift work and use the gym in work, nothing too serious, not lift weights just using treadmill and bikes or some core work. Because I work night shifts sometimes I'd be going to the gym in the middle of the night. I can only use the gym in work because I've 4 kids at home (another reason I need an energy boost) and my wife mainly works opposite me so I'd be minding the kids when she's in work, so can't really use a gym outside work. So I'm just looking for something that would help give my system a bit of a boost, like a one a day type capsule kind of thing. There's tonnes of different types in the shops but I wouldn't know which to go for.

    Cheers in advance!

Unfortunately there isn't any capsule that will negate the effects of night shifts, four kids etc. However I would highly highly recommend that you listen to Danny Lennons recent podcast on the area of maximising sleep. I would recommend coffee normally but I'd use caffeine carefully here because you don't want it to interfere with sleep which is so vital.

Try carb timing, fit a high carb snack in an hour or 2 before you workout.

Thanks for the replies! I was hoping for some kind of magic wand! :-) I'll check out that podcast and website.
I think I do ok with sleep, all things considered, so an adjustment to what I eat is maybe the way to go.

    Thanks again.
