    Hello,

As stated I'm new to the whole eat certain things and what is the correct thing to eat for toning and building muscle.

I understand the whole calorie deficit to loose weight, cause I have lost 6 stone previously. But now I'm wanting to train right, but also eat right. I read somewhere that its 30% training and 70% your food.

I have also heard about the myfitnesspal app, but it can be still a bit hard to understand it all, when you've zero knowledge. I have also been thinking of going to a Personal Trainer for a food plan, but I kind of see this as a waste as I already go gym, and I'll be just paying the money to be told on what to eat.

So what I was wandering is there any way to know your eating enough of a certain thing and so forth. So any books or anything that could help with the whole Idea to completely wrap my head around it.

    Thanks.

Hm. I'm not sure where to begin...
I'd imagine getting enough protein would be important for muscle building put don't know enough about it.

Have you looked at any sites regarding nutrition for muscle gain?

Probably a bit of reading in all that but there's no substitute for learning the principles yourself

Toning is losing fat. Which as you said requires a calories deficit.
Building muscle requires a surplus (as it's a process that requires energy).
The 70/30 stuff is mostly made up. It doesn't actually mean anything. If you want to build muscle you'll need to train hard, eat right most of the time. "Eat Right" will vary depending on your needs. somebody with an intake of 4000cals will get away with more than somebody with an intake of 2000.

The stickies Al posted cover the everything you need to get started
