The brutality of the male libido

"For most of history, we’ve taken for granted the implicit brutality of male sexuality. In 1976, the radical feminist and pornography opponent Andrea Dworkin said that the only sex between a man and a woman that could be undertaken without violence was sex with a flaccid penis: “I think that men will have to give up their precious erections,” she wrote. In the third century A.D., it is widely believed, the great Catholic theologian Origen, working on roughly the same principle, castrated himself."

So what do you think boys and girls? Is male sexuality inherently violent and oppressive? My libido is indeed brutal but I can tell you all the women I have been with (and there has been plen-tee) were grateful for it.

My opinion is that this Stephen Marche guy is the epitome of the self hating, feminized, western male who feels personal guilt for the behavior of losers like Weinstein. Pathetic.

Put it this way, I don't think Syrian migrants feel guilty for desiring sex with beautiful women.

I think that the idea that the male libido is brutal is damaging. Giving young men the impression that their libido is something violent and uncontrollable can't be good for them, or their attitudes to sex.

Right, taking this half way seriously the male libido is not inherently brutal, as it is not constantly used brutally. Hunger can make us brutal for example, in times of famine, but eating an apple isn't an inherently brutal act.

That the male libido leads some men to brutal acts just puts in a list of biological urges which overrides empathy for others for some people.

Only some woman "crave" rough dominant sex, so again it's not some built in component.

It's a lot more than 'some'. Rape is one of the biggest female fantasies.

I have made sweet love to literally nearly hundreds of beautiful, sloe-eyed women, and errr.....that's it really, pretty much.

Why would you put it that way? Are you suggesting they shouldn't? Or that you shouldn't? Or that nobody should?

Google it now and you'll find plenty of articles. The success of 'romance' novels. A guy analysed the search habits of Pornhub user and found that rape and rough sex was some of the most popular genres for women.

he is correct. you can google the stats. women fantasize about that about 4-5 times more frequently than men.

that said i think op is on that whole tired alt-right 'everyones a cuck except me' trip.

it was the talk of syrians mixed with the talk of feminism that hints at this.

the feminist quote is unsurprising, they're bat**** and should be ignored and left to ramble.

I agree and it may lead to self hate and perpetual virginity for some. I would hope though that most men don't and won't ever feel guilty for doing what God made them to do.

They do in their holes. Straight Arabs walk around arm in arm. They spend more time preening and posing than anyone in Ireland. You should come to an Arab country sometime and you would get the fright of your life if that's what you think.

French men kiss each other on the cheek, doesn't make them gay.

No but it doesn't make them macho either.

What makes you think Arabs are macho?

Is it possible you are intimidated by them. Look up to them. Fear but respect them?

The male dominance of their culture. The live in, literally, a patriarchy.

The male dominance of their culture. The live in, literally, a patriarchy.

It still doesn't make them macho.

It sounds like you like their way of life though. Have you thought of maybe moving over here to teach English or study?

The food, weather and the vast majority of the people are lovely.

When your libido wanes and you look back on your younger days, you realise the veracity of the old saying that 'having a libido is like being chained to a madman'.

I'd agree with the OP in the sense that, in my experience and under the right circumstances, straight women have no problem with the "brutal" male libido.

Is the majority of this entire thread one user posting with multiple accounts? Are you really saying that the majority of women crave rough sex based on the search engine of Pornhub.

Yes some girls I’ve been with like what you state sometimes. It is not what they wanted all the time. Also it didn’t make me feel like my libido was brutal. The thesis that you are trying to argue is actually bizarre and smacks of someone who looks more at pornhub search engines rather than actually being with a girl.

More man-hating intellectual sounding nonsense sums it up I think

I wonder when we as a society will get over this incessant navel gazing and looking for someone/something to blame for or explain the ills in life and move on

I remember doing an essay on this in college. Is the op espousing the Catherine McKinnon school of thought that every girl who has sex is essentially being raped even if she consents due to the fact that she has been brought up in such a patriarchal society that the brutal man takes away her right to say yes due to the fact that he is a brutal male and females are scared and therefore have no opinion about consent. If that is the case then jaysus you have no understanding of women.
