Channel 4 HD is Free to Air, but not on Freesat EPG.

Channel 4 HD and CNN HD are available and can be incorporated into the EPG using CrossEPG plugin, see screenshot here. I will be posting a new version tomorrow which I have made as simple as humanly possible to use, based on feedback from wifey. It also includes IPTV Player, which gives RTÉ Player, 3 Player, and other goodies, thanks to Gerry Wicklow.

I’ve removed KodiLite, as it loads slowly, and is no longer needed, thanks to the IPTV Player.

Find Channel 4 HD in all channels press menu and add it to favourites bouquet. The favourites bouquet doesn't get overwriten

Arrow up to bring up the channel menu then press red. You really need to look for the shortcuts on the 4 colour buttons as they are used in every menu

You can use the Bouquet Editor in the Web Interface.

I moved away from the approach of adding Channel 4 to favorites as it didn’t pass the wifey test. We (wifey and I) like the channels ordered the way we use them, hence I created custom channel lists, with the main HD channels (RTE 1/2, BBC1/2, UTV, CH4 and CH5), at the top.

You can select a dongle, as part of your order. I find the one they supply very poor - keep having to restart the adapter, if I do any heavy streaming.

Wife has gone from asking me why I bought the triviar to why can't we have this box in living room as well as kitchen and replace the old "stupid" box.

If i was to get a second box , can you access the recording from one to another. I assume I'd just share out the harddrive I have in current box.
Are people using two ?

I have a dual tuner Edison Os nino in my kitchen with a usb key for epg and picons. I have it configured identically to the Tiviar with the same skin and channel layout. I don't do recording on it, but I have the movie folder from my Tiviar mapped so I can watch what the Tiviar records

I can't see anything with version 6.2 on it.

I think you'll have to flash a fresh image. Be careful in there and be sure take a full backup before you touch anything. I generally find you are best to leave things alone and start afresh every so often.

Yes, you’ll need to flash a new image.
The image I posted on this thread is based on OpenATV 6.2, with additional updates, and includes the E2iPlayer. If you don’t like the customized remote, just delete all the HotKeys. (Should only take 2-3 minutes.)

BLUE should now offer 6.2. You will also be asked if you want to back up first. Obviously say yes.

Don't be afraid of a clean flash. As it installs it will offer to restore your backed up settings, bouquets, timers etc. You can even choose which existing plugins to keep.
In some cases, you will have to manually reset crossEPG to automatically download.

Note: I see v6.3 is now on offer if you already have 6.2. Based on previous experience I wouldn't be in a hurry to try it unless you know what you're doing.

I agree with all of the above. TBH I see no good reason to update to a new software release, unless you have a problem or are missing specific functionality. OpenATV is still issuing regular updates, any one of which could potentially cause a problem.

P.S. I forgot to thank you, over on the other thread, for your work on E2iPlayer. That has now been rectified. 🙂

Is there a way to combine the satellite/saorview/E2i-player EPG together ?

I already have the saorview and satellite combined, but it would be nice to also have E2i player.

Yes, it is possible to add (legal) IPTV channels to the EPG. I’ve looked at this but I simply didn’t have the time to make it work.

Yes, that would complete my setup.

It is not possible at the moment, because Enigma2 does not have DRM protection. Looking elsewhere, it appears that this has been got working for boxes with ARM processors, but unfortunately the Tiviar uses MIPS. However, there is hope...

Is there a similar box with just a single satellite tuner which could act as a secondary box for a multi-room setup? Something about the same size as the Sky HD multi-room box.
