The fair deal brochures mention that certain expenses can be deducted against your assessable means. Would private health insurance premiums come under this? The lady in question would not have sufficent income left to meet the payments otherwise

When I enquired with the Fair Deal office about this very matter they told me that health insurance is NOT deductible unfortunately.
