just to say fair play paulie, you've put up these threads every week this season

If the Ravens can't beat the Bengals at home they don't deserve the playoffs. I can't see anything but a Baltimore W and they will take the 5th seed :)

The Los Angeles Chargers can clinch a playoff berth with a win, a Tennessee Titans loss, and EITHER a Baltimore Ravens win OR a Buffalo Bills loss.

The Buffalo Bills can clinch a playoff berth with:
a win AND a Baltimore Ravens loss; OR
a win AND losses by BOTH the Tennessee Titans and the LA Chargers.

    NFC scenarios.
The Minnesota Vikings can clinch a first-round bye with:
    a win; OR
    a Carolina Panthers loss; OR

Have friends over for new years but I've already told them this NFL will be on.

Simple equation for the titans. Win and youre definitely in. Lose and you need two other losses

Looks like the fins back up QB is going to see some snaps.

Means the Titans can't count on them helping if the Titans loose

Nick foles isn't connecting with his receivers.

The Browns are some ****ing shambles.

Foles looks so bad. I think we should give Suidfeld a run out, see what he does.

OK, I know giving up on a first round QB in the first year is probably a bad decision - but Kizer makes me worry a lot. He just called a timeout on his own 1yd line with 2 seconds left in the quarter!? He really seems to lack a brain, hard to train that.

Then he throws a pass about 5-6 yards ahead of his WR that would have been 3-4 feet above what even Gronk or Julio could make it up to. Him and Brett Hundley in GB remind me of each other quite a bit - I can see some of the raw stuff the scouts would have liked but they seem like a combination of mismatched pieces rather than actual players, and both have a staggering lack of awareness of anything going on around them (defensive audibles, their own audibles, clock management, any receivers beyond their first option, etc etc).

EDIT: Just as I finished typing this, I switch tabs back to Gamepass in the knick of time to see Hundley coughs the ball up and turns it over in the Lions redzone.

Yeah, he was on course for 40 TD passes and still leads the NFL in TD passes. Next year :(

So, Sudfeld looked good that series. The slip was unfortunate but he evaded the tackle brilliantly

Yeah I'll let him off the slip as at least he looked like he was trying something. You can't fault him for that.

    Crazy time out call alright

Kizer was actually a 2nd round pick, considering the Browns had a bundle of picks he wasn't the worst punt but as you said he seems to lack a QB brain with a good arm on him. I would be doubtful if he was set behind an Alex Smith or a Kirk Cousins for a year or two whether his decision making would progress.

Three weeks ago, D was concerning. Good last week and this week. O line is concerning this week and Foles looked garbage today and last week. O line needs to stop giving up stupid penalties.

Should be a stonewall penalty against Detroit there, we got done on the exact same thing against the Vikings on a fair catch earlier in the year. I'm basically a Lions fan for the next hour or two though so weirdly glad to see calls go against the Pack tonight! :D

Yeah I mean it's not like he's an all pro or a 100 tackle, rangy safety that's widely regarded as top 5-10 in his position in the league anything.

Dix's biggest weakness is that he doesn't excel in overly complex schemes. Needless to say, Dom Capers loves his convoluted schemes (and just look at Jones, who has gone from being an explosive, electic young DB to looking stranded, lost and flat out unconfident out there more often as the season has worn on). Last year with all the DB injuries we had to simplify, and Dix absolutely shined... so naturally Dom fixed that up quick sharpish and started also giving him less deep zone coverage assignments as a result. Because he doesn't seem to pay any attention to the players available to him, or what the opposition is doing.

Thankfully, that should be all over now though!

RIP. Dom Capers coverage scheme, opposing teams will miss seeing this 15-20 times a game:

If Sudfeld can get a drive going, he deserves a shout at the divisional game. If we are going out, might as well give him experience. Also, have the receiver a chance there.
