Hey Everyone, Probably a very silly question but I cannot find my IP address of a Wordpress website that i've installed on shared hosting. I need to be able to query it via its IP as i'll be pointing the domain name to another cloud server to test out some stuff with my app. Thanks for any advice.

Hey Everyone,

Probably a very silly question but I cannot find my IP address of a Wordpress website that i've installed on shared hosting. I need to be able to query it via its IP as i'll be pointing the domain name to another cloud server to test out some stuff with my app.

If it's on shared hosting, you won't be able to query it by IP (unless it's specifically dedicated IP hosting). Multiple sites will be hosted at that IP, resolution is done by looking at the requested hostname

28064212 is correct. In general you will need to have a domain name for shared hosting.

If you want a domain name for testing purposes, you can get one for as little as €1.99 ex VAT. All our special offers are listed on domainoffers.me.

Alternatively, you could edit the hosts file on the computer you wish to use to access the Wordpress site, so that that machine will resolve the domain name to the shared hosting IP, even if the same domain name in DNS is pointing to the cloud server IP.

The IP address of your shared hosting webspace is listed on the control panel under 'Subscriptions and Usage'. Or try https://mxtoolbox.com/DNSLookup.aspx to see what your domain name is currently resolving to on DNS.
