Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lads, can anyone tell me what's the craic with getting into the (ceremonial) weigh ins?

Is it just a case of queuing up a few hours beforehand? Anyone have any tips of how to improve chances?

    Cheers

    You just stroll in.

    You just stroll in.

Yeah this is pretty much it. Unless you're planning on going to the fight club event (usually a q+a) then there isn't a que. Come one come all. The weigh ins realistically won't be full to capacity, just keep an eye out for updates closer to the day for what time the doors open.

Dont believe this is confirmed yet. Closer to time should have clarity

    Thanks guys.

I didn't realise there was a Fight Club event: I'll keep an eye out for that.

I guess info just goes up on the UFC's FB page etc?

Cheers for the insights, lads :)

Keep an eye on this thread because as soon as info becomes available one of us will probably share it! Unless it's someone really good then personally I wouldn't bother with any of the Q&A's but that's just me.

    Brilliant, thanks all.

TBH, unless it's someone on the prelims, I'd probably go :D I don't think I'll be in a position to go over to another fight in Vegas anytime soon so would be keen to make the absolute most of it!

Well lads, I have flights & accommodation booked for Vegas. Tickets not locked in yet but hoping to get them sorted before arriving. However if I cannot get the tickets - what's the best way to watch the fight in Vegas, I'm hearing a lot of places charge crazy cover charges to get in?

Lagasse Sportsbook in The Venetian has a pretty wicked setup. If you want you can rent a private suite area (pool tables, host etc) for $4,000 and it sits about 20+. They also have private seating areas out on the floor which run upwards of $900. Alternatively, you can just stand around and hope to see it on one of the million TV's they have

I think if this is an option you will be at the fight.

Not necessarily true... I didn't get tickets but booked a private area

You must have a gang going and no tickets?

I've an awful feeling they're not even putting on 12 fights. It's less than 6 weeks to fight night and only 10 bouts announced.

I've resigned myself to this now. Fcking joke really.

Makes no sense to me.. 20 people 4k..$400 a man. If your willing to shell out that surely you would just put another $400 on top and buy off viagogo.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,139 Mod ✭✭✭✭Mr. Manager

I'm not willing to pay way over the price for tickets to sit in the nosebleeds. Would much rather take the money and spend it at a viewing party. For the record, not taking one of the rooms but did book a private area for 6 of us for $900. $150 each seems a no brainer.

I'd never pay a reseller for a ticket anyways. Only encourages it. Tried to get a ticket on the day but the payment was declined and when I refreshed they were gone. Oh well

Anywhere else that's good to go watch the fight in Las Vegas as tickets are gone, would the Irish bars or sports bars in Las Vegas be better?

Irish bars in nyny and mandalay bay worth a look mgm should have a viewing party too. Google your friend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,795 ✭✭✭dulux99

Yeah RiRa in the mandalay bay is the best of the Irish bars that I know of, 9 fine Irishmen (cringe) is a decent bar but a bit small and don't know do they have many TVs in there

RiRa will be ticketed so you'd wanna get sorted early

I’d look at what Blondies sport bar are doing. I’ll be there for Thursday night football and Monday night football pre and post fight. The video of Conor destroying Alvarez gets the excitement going. 5 weeks and a few hours to ceremonial weigh in.

Fly out 4 weeks today(3rd) Can't wait to get back to Vegas. Gonna chill by the pool more this time instead of the poker tables, prob spend a few quid in the fight shop in the shopping area of PH.

Need to start looking up planning my days out to get maximum out of the trip.

Are the pools open in October? I know a lot of places close the pools for a few months.

To each their own but the pools never appealed to me. Vegas is such a mad place I feel like the odd time I've gone down there I feel like I'm wasting my trip

anyone reckon UFC 230 tickets in MSG in November will also be like golddust?
would like to get one of the cheaper ones if poss

doubt it would sell out like the way the McGregor ones do? says tkts on sale on 21 sept, don't wanna pay 85 usd per person to get access to pre sale tho! rip off

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,139 Mod ✭✭✭✭Mr. Manager

Meant to say, if anyone is up for a Boards beers over there, let me know. I'll be there from 2nd - 12th. Outside of the UFC and playing a bit of poker and top golf I'll be twiddling my thumbs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,663 ✭✭✭JoeyJJ

Yeah pools open, I will probably only spend time there to rest tbh. Drink to small hours, sleep 3/4 hours, play early morning poker, hit pool for a kip for a couple of hours rinse and repeat with evening activities such as a show or 2 fight etc.

    Flash Seats rubbish.

I imagine if you have any major issues, you can collect at the box office in the lead up to it. Bring the original payment method and ID.

This is what I got back "Are you referring to the McGregor fight on Oct 6th? If so, we are showing it. It’s $40 at the door. If you even remotely want a chance at a table, I’d show up at 2:30pm Vegas time bc there will be a line forming. If I am physically there at that time I can do my best to help you but if not, I wouldn’t."

It's like an app from 2010. It actually gives me anxiety to know my tickets that are worth a fortune are housed in this piece of sh*t app

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,663 ✭✭✭JoeyJJ

Yeah its mental, the wife is defo using her ticket cause I don't fancy trying to sell it to a stranger if she isn't too bothered.

I used the AXS app instead. Same thing in there, QR code refreshes and your tickets are stored.

Tuesday evening arrive and have a few drinks
Wednesday head downtown, pool drink drink
Thursday Night Football should be good. Searching for best place with drink specials
then weigh ins Friday about3pm? Not as exciting since we’ll all know that they’ve made or not made weight by then.
Fight day Saturday probably head in for prelims.
Sunday premier league football from about 7am then NFL games till about 7/8pm
    Monday recover
    Tuesday fly out

Jesus Christ, the Wolfe Tones playing beside a pool in Vegas, or a quarter of them anyway. That'd be pretty surreal. Terrible, but surreal.

What's the over/under on how many times Mark McCabe can play Maniac 2000.
