What sort of ending would satisfy you?

Should end post fight with some group, few main characters dead, rest gone in different directions...

What I want to see is elimination/wearing off of the zombie gene, something like they find a corpse which has died in the last week or so but hasn’t turned....this for me would give the survivors at least some hope.
As it is currently there is no hope because no matter how safe they are/become there is always the risk that someone could die in their sleep and then just spread the death amongst their group.

That seems plausible. The only reason i still watch it is to see the final outcome.
This current season has just been woeful.

Yeah I had wondered what would happen if someone died unexpectedly in their sleep while the group are together and none of the others are prepared for it. They could attack at least one other person before the rest of the group were alerted by screams or whatever. I guess that's just a risk you run.

If they discovered someone dead but unaffected, it wouldn't really confirm anything though as there are usually a certain amount of the population immune to those things anyway.

They should have an episode where something like that happens unexpectedly.

Also no ones been bitten and had to be cared for while going through the fever/sickness for a long time. Remember the guy in S1 that chose to be left at the tree but they travelled with him for a while? I think that would happen more often.

We haven’t seen any instances of it yet though.

that actually happened back in the prison remember that kid that looked like milhouse ! from the Simpsons died from that virus and wandered out of the cell and attacked some one who was sleeping.

I haven't caught up on this series yet but I was reading a theory online that Rick and Carl are immune to the virus which I thought was interesting and could be a good idea.

When you die and the brain reactivates into a zombie brain, Ricks brain reactivates fully and is restored so he is a zombie but fully functioning. A bit far fetched but it could tie in with how he survived in the beginning at the hospital and how Carl survived when he was shot.

Well that gives me motivation to catch up although I have heard some things that would probably just disprove the theory

Then rick bites one of the zombie people and they start to get sick and turn back into a human and thus begins the human Apocalypse and all that has come before will come again...

4 months ago when I started the thread I had suggested that one of the theories is that Rick is in a coma and that if that's the ending I'd feel shafted.
4 months later and I'd take it just so the show ended.

Effects

I'd be most happy if it was just cancelled and nothing was resolved.
