    Before the madness starts....

What are the odds of either/both the Kindle Paperwhite and a Samsung Galaxy S(+) being reduced on Black Friday?

Don't know whether to bite the bullet now to get them stored away, or wait and see.

I would imagine that the Kindle will be reduced. they tend to reduce their own products. Black Friday last year it was £79.99. It's currently at it's highest price so don't buy now.

    FYI.

Amazon have been sending out e-mails chucking £10 vouchers at dormant accounts and offering Prime Trials for a 2nd time to people. I was over my limit of trials so e-mailed them and asked for another one. It does help during the month of spending because sometimes items are available earlier to Prime members and also can have a higher discount as well.

Had a look at the countdown deals, does anyone know if these items will be further reduced on black friday or will they stay this price? thanks

Hi - with regards the free month of prime - I accidentally took it out a few years back and when i realised, I cancelled it. Does this exclude me from the offer?

I'm planning on buying a few things this month so would it be worth getting the prime anyway and cancel after xmas? Thanks

Also I'm looking at getting a Amazon Fire 8inch 16gb - Is it worth waiting for Black Friday sale - currently at £79.99.

I have my eye on a TV. They reduced yesterday, & it's gone back up in price today. The search continues...

I'm after a 65in TV but have never ordered one through Amazon. I assume it goes via PM and one needs to go get it in the warehouse in Dublin?

Try "READ40" for the Kindle Paperwhite, brings it down to £69.

I don't think you can immediately cancel the subscription and continue to use it. The option is now remind me 3 days before renewal. Cancel it then after black Friday stuff.

I got talking to them on it - I pay the £79 upfront and if i cancel within the 30 days - they will do a full refund.

I think I read somewhere over 50inch they don't deliver directly to Ireland. I could be wrong tho.

I got the fire 8 hd in the last sale when it was £30 I think it was. It's a nice tablet, but wait for black Friday.
I think they usually discount a year of prime too around the bf/cm weekend.

Hopefully this will be of use to yee, but if you're using Firefox or Chrome be sure to have the camelizer installed so you don't get ripped off!

    Yes.

Pretty much the only real deals are on Amazon own brand goods.

I had asked ccc if they would be able to send alerts on the black friday deals - I just got this reply :
We usually cannot get lightning deals, but will often manually send alerts for the best items during the holiday season. So the answer is “hopefully some”.

    Thanks for using our site!

as far as i know, amazon don't allow them access to the lightning deals for their alerts...

Any word on the firestick been available in Ireland, seemingly there was an announcement about them offering it to the rest of the world (without Alexa).
If so I would imagine this will defiantly be a black Friday deal

How are ye going about getting another free 30 days?

I have 5 Amazon accounts, one of them had the "Pay now" option.... the other 4 had the "Start free trial" button

Best to create a new account I reckon, you can reuse your credit card.

Is Prime region specific? If I sign up for a UK account will that then limit what tv shows/films I could then watch? Would I be 'stuck' with an only UK account.

The £ Pound is possibly due to go below parity with the Euro during the start of 2018. So there seems to be big value in having a UK account while paying in Euro (and using Parcel Motel if necessary).

Looking at buying a car at the minute, but if waiting until January saves me 000's, I'm all over it!

If anyone really knew which way the £ is going to go they could make a fortune in currency speculation.Otherwise its just taking a punt.

    No joy with me:
I've read your e-mail and I understand that you want to sign up for Prime membership.

Firstly, thanks for being with Amazon for 17 years. It is our privilege to have you as our valued customer & we want to make sure you are always taken care of.

I've checked the details and can see that you've signed for Prime membership on 14 November 2016 and cancelled it on 14 December 2016.

Please know, customer can subscribe for Prime free one month trial only once in a year and considering the date you've cancelled it on, the year is not completed yet. If you subscribe for Prime before 14 December 2017, you may get charged for the subscription.

Signing up is easy. Visit https://www.amazon.co.uk/prime and follow the on-screen instructions.

Your understanding is highly appreciated in this matter. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

With Amazon, when refused by an agent try try again. Chat is good. They want rid of you quickly. They may give you what you want.
