TV above a stove... getting signal to TV as only power point?

so we are changing our fireplace and i'm thinking of put in some 3 core flex (under the hearth) and run out along the skirting to a nearby plug. what im wondering, we have Sky and how would i get the signal to the TV from the sky box in another room? Would Slingbox do this? or is there an alternative?
