No matter who you are or where you are or what you try do to prevent it, at some point in the future you are going to die.

And there's nothing you can do about it.

Happiness and contentment can only ever occur for a period of about 10-15 seconds at a frequency of about every 6 to 8 weeks.
The rest is a fluctuation between doldrums and hardship.

Life is about the pursuit of happiness not the attainment of happiness.

Life is really unfair. Nobody has all jam and velvet, nobody gets an easy ride. It's not your fault and they are not to blame: it is just - unfair, how life is.

(and it is an odd thing, that once you accept this simple fact, life becomes a lot more enjoyable)

The entire Banking sector is a corrupt monopoly of legally protected institutions, with the illusion of stringent regulation. In reality they can do what they want with little, to no consequences in comparison to the individual and worse still there has been nothing done to prevent the banks making risky/dangerous calls in the future that could lead to further bailouts...

Bring the economy to the brink of collapse = forced to resign with golden handshake (and off to UK for job there), financial institution is bailed out on the backs of taxpayers because the economy needs it.

Don't pay TV licence - Possible jail sentence

    The system works . . . .

So, life is like the dog chasing cars: he wouldn't know what to do if he caught one?

Not quite, life is about the pursuit of providing happiness in others. Now that's contentment.

The OP doesn't reply, he just starts multiple threads with mad questions and moves on to the next new topic. There's a few users doing this now on boards, I'm guessing it's the same person. Who knows?

Untrue. Most people are kind, decent and pleasant. Everyone has bad days. But I think for the most part, the average person is a good person with a good heart.

Friendship is predicated on the absence of meaningful rivalry between individuals.

Most people will throw unders under a bus in the right circumstances.

    Agreed . .

What a person perceives of life, people or the world around them, is not necessary a true reflection of the world. We presume it to be factual when its just our flawed/inaccurate internal story/interpretation.

That we all take advantage of someone else, even in a well meaning way. "I'll ask such and such the question to my dilemma, he or she won't say no and won't be a knob about it."

It’s a projection. Ever meet a real happy kind person? They think the world is full of happy kind people.

If that's true, then can you explain why in 1985, in a song entitled 'A Good Heart' Feargal Sharkey sang: 'A good heart these days is hard to find'? I mean, according to you, and I don't want to put words in your mouth or anything, you said: "most people" have a good heart. Not only that, but you also then went on to say: "the average person" had a good heart.

I mean, you do realise that Maria McKee wrote that song about her relationship with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers keyboard player Benmont Tench, right? So you're trying to tell us all that Maria McKee's a liar, that she made the whole thing up, is that it? She just decided, in probably the best decade for music since time began, to start writing songs with lies in them??

And Dave Stewart (from the Eurythmics) who produced the song, didn't care that she was lying?? He went along with whole thing just for money I suppose. Sigh. Okay, fair enough, you could say that Maria McKee perhaps had a reason to lie, as she was only 19 at the time and was a struggling to make ends meet, but David Stewart was rich, anna! Why would he go along with it all? He wouldn't, and you know he wouldn't.

Good hearts ARE hard to find. Cut the bullshit.
