Expensive too. Three will have it.

    Doh - http://www.three.ie/brand/razer/razer-phone/

€749 is expensive, but not bad on billphone.

It's not that expensive compared to what it's been put up against, Note 8, Mate 10 pro, iPhone X.
Still that screen at 120Hz is buttery smooth compared to the competition same as an iPad pro.
Reviews are good but it's getting knocked on it's battery life due to the screen refresh rate, still if your stuck for power you can wind the sceen back to 30Hz or 60Hz and it should give a huge improvement in battery life of your stuck for some.
Some of the reviews are a bit biased, like they knock a star off this for not having a headphone jack while the iPhone X doesn't loose a start for not having a headphone jack and a bit missing out of the screen.

Thought this was an honest enough review https://wccftech.com/review/the-hardware-review-razer-phone/

First 1300 won’t lose with the limited edition one.
Lots of Razor fans will want it.

Here’s a work around for the camera I found in a review meant to be a big improvement, it’s a modded google pixel camera app, you can download and install directly from here, https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817906626617934890

    Review here https://youtu.be/9tXVeOX4DFU

Got it today, loving it 😀 I moved from a oneplus one to this and it's some jump. The quality of everything from the packaging to the phone itself is just beautiful. Phone itself just feels so solid in the hand and the 120hz display is something else. Just scrolling on fb etc. is so much smoother in comparison to the opo.

I changed the camera app over to the Google apk after trying the Razer software and the quality improved massively, takes much nicer photos than my old phone for sure.

It charged from 45℅ to 100℅ in around 20-30 minutes so delighted, and I've been using it nearly straight testing games GPS etc since 3pm, battery is at 65℅ at the moment.

All in all I love it, and those speakers wow, louder than my TV haha

Just setting it up been a while since I've had a new droid, any essentials I need....thought the phone was rooted out of the box but doesn't seem to be as need to do a bit of messing to in install the XDA developers reachability feature, hopefully works as well as the iPhone plus one it's a feature badly missing from android.

It's a pretty awesome phone though, having the nova launcher as standard makes a big difference really makes it very quick to use. My iPhone feels so slow in comparison.

Showing me 1 day and 11hrs battery left and it's on since about 6 yesteday, I'll
believe it when I see it, few games and video should bring that back down a bit. Super quick to charger through.

Did you get a green or black one, see there looking for 2.5k on eBay for the green ones...

I just got the regular edition, wasn't quick enough for the limited. Battery life is really impressing me, I've an hour and 50 minutes of solid gaming since full charge and I'm at 82℅.

Thinking of getting one of these.
It's a choice between this or the Nokia 8 on contract with Three.
I like the Nexus like approach with the Nokia device but I also like owning something a bit different, and the Razer certainly fits that role.
    So, what to choose?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,694 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

It’s a bigger beast than the Nokia size wise, it’s nearly identical to an iPhone 7/8 Plus size just with edged corners rather than rounded and the 2 black bezels on the iPhone have been replaced with kick ass 3D surround speakers.
It’s completly flying in the face of every other phone out there design wise, it puts function over fashion. It’s a love it or hate it, anyone I’ve showed it to was very impressed.
To use it’s super fast and smooth. If you watch videos, play games, listen to music, has to be one if not the top choices out there.
The 120hz screen is notably quicker to use than any other phone out there, they just can’t physically display the content as quick.

I’m not saying buy it as I haven’t had it long enough, I’ve went for it over the iPhone X (can’t bring myself to love the notch). Would I choose it over the Nokia yes 100% neither of them are one fingered phones so you may as well have the better one. The Nokia is probably a nicer fit in the pocket though but don’t think it’s in the same league.

    It is cool and exclusive.

Thanks for that, I've had 4 years of Nexus devices, feel like a change tbh, the Razer seems perfect.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,694 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

Reporting the same as icyseanfitz, phones been on 24hrs without a charge, showing 6hrs left, you won't have charger anxiety, can easily leave the house in the morning and forget about having to charge it.
I've been playing games, lots of surfing and YouTube today so it's had a good bit of use.
I've no case yet and it hasn't got hot, iPhone used to get hard to handle with the heat if subjected to the same.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,418 ✭✭✭Icyseanfitz

yeah after a few days of use i really have to say that this phone is just amazing, surprised theres not more interest around it tbh. After changing the camera app i really cant think of anything wrong with it.

Is it compatible with all the 4g bands in use in Ireland?, the idea of moving from a nexus device to this is growing on me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,418 ✭✭✭Icyseanfitz

I'm with three and have zero issues with 4g

To everyone that owns the Razer, does the camera issue indeed appear to be software based?

Also, apparently the vibrate motor sounds as if it's broken. Has anyone experienced this issue?

I absolutely love this phone - so different than anything out there at the moment. I'm tossing between a One Plus 5T or this - the camera and vibrate function are really the only things holding me back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,418 ✭✭✭Icyseanfitz

The last phone I had was the one plus one, camera on the razer is much better as long as you use the Google camera apk. Can't compare it to any other flagships personally but I presume there are better camera phones out there.
As for the vibrate feature, I don't really know. It vibrates 😂 haven't noticed anything wrong with it.

As for the phone itself, amazing, best phone I've ever seen or used. Love it

Razer boss posted on facebook updates are coming for the camera yesterday.. https://m.facebook.com/minliangtan/posts/1595502560507520

Haven't noticed anything wrong with the buzzer all i know is it works.

Can't really fault the phone..when you get used to that 120hz display other phones feel old and clunky, that goes for all phones, s8, iPhone X etc.

I think that update was for the Dolby Atmos as it was meant to be broken. Mine works though I think, didn't test it properly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,418 ✭✭✭Icyseanfitz

    did you get the update?

No tried restarting there as well but no update, not really expecting a big one until next year.

Pre-ordered the special edition one with three and I love it, have been using iPhones since the 3g so a big change!! Awesome for gaming and the speakers pack a whallop compared to my iPhone 7plus! 5*

Even worse if you in the nextbit robin thread, still pretty impressed at how it held up, i've still no case on it..

same as, all the ones i was looking at where on pre order. Seems like it would take a bit of punishment anyway tbh. Although with the aluminium body i do find the phone slipping quite a bit and giving me slight heart attacks :D

I see Three have it on exclusive here in Ireland. Looking to upgrade and the reviews look good but no headphone jack look like a deal breaker for me. What are the headphones that come with it like? Also how are people who already have it finding the headphones?

It comes with a dongle/adapter so you can plug in any existing headphones you have!

Yeah it's a trend with a lot of new flagships for some reason. Doesn't bother me too much as I have the USB c to 3.5mm if I need wired and most earphones id use with my phone would be Bluetooth anyway so its grand

If you are using this adapter, how good is your sound? It' supposed to make it better with your existing headset, how do you find it?

Don't think so but not sure about warranty, it won't work over there on CDMA networks, think you can also only buy in the Microsoft store, think it's $699 before sales tax, probably cheaper buy here if price drops a little in January

Think this is the one, you need to go into camera setting to enable portrait mode https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WOdULwF-m4qrKOxhZyAMDkXKiFeFYZwj/view

Should be white circle, blue lens and grey camera
