Sky have done a fan poll to select this weeks games. Currently winning are the Packers/Bears and Falcons/Cowboys matchups.

Texans/Rams would have been a great game with Watson, now it'll just be how much damage limitation can the Texans defense do.

Expect the Titans to win, but potentially the Jags could slip up against the Chargers

Am intriguing set of games. I find it hard to believe how quickly Denver have regressed. Going into the Giants game, they were 3-1 with a QB playing solid football, a legit defence and shrewd pundits* picking them for the Super Bowl. Since then they have been the worst team in the league.

The day they went 3-1, the Patriots had been shredded by Cam and shrewd pundits were calling the Patriots toast as their D was in ribbons.

Look at them now.... Patriots 7.5 point road favourites, and rightly so.

    * Well, me

I agree with all this bar the Vikings Redskins game. I think the Vikings get the win coming off a Bye.

When are people going to learn? Democracy doesn't work!
Don't get me wrong, I'll be watching, the Bears can make history by nixing the Packers overall lead in wins in the history of the rivalry, which has been allowed to stand for far too long (several weeks). But it's going to be a sh1te game.

49ers/Giants... Game of the season right there, surprised they didn't flex it into SNF.

Bradford put on IR. Bridgewater activated to roster.

I was trying to pick a winner for this one for our Superbru league. My right hand is still shaking.

    84-48 coming into the week

    Seahawks @ Cardinals
    Chargers @ Jaguars
    Jets @ Buccaneers
    Steelers @ Colts
    Packers @ Bears
    Vikings @ Redskins
    Saints @ Bills
    Bengals @ Titans
    Browns @ Lions
    Texans @ Rams
    Giants @ 49ers
    Cowboys @ Falcons
    Patriots @ Broncos
    Dolphins @ Panthers

See a lot of home wins this week, but picking the Jets as an away win and the Broncos as a home loss is a bit strange.

Saints @ Bills turned around a 700 vote deficit in the last two hours of voting to win by 160. Corrupt or not, its a victory for everyone.

Cowboys Falcons the other winner obviously.

There's talk the 49ers will struggle to suit up 46 healthy players.

poor fumble from Peterson undoing a great start for the Cardinals Defense.

my poor eyes with those Seattle Unis.
Throwback to Orlando Thunder days (obscure reference!)

To be honest the jerseys are much worse on tv. Seen them at games and thought they were decent.

Neat little drive from Seahawks there. Cards haven't been able to get out of the field position hole the Peterson fumble put them into.

With Stanton in at QB I'm wondering if that TD will be enough for Seattle to win! - A bit early to call the game though.

At least it’s not going to be 6-6 this year!

I actually enjoyed that game. Both Ds were great and then you had the topsy turvey special-teams-mistake-filled-ending.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,702 ✭✭✭MileHighGuy

That last personal foull/facemask play shows why TV has the camera fixed on the sideline as opposed to the sky cam....it couldn't follow the developing play and you couldn't see much of anything going on. I can't imagine enjoying a game that was predominantly skycam footage that they will be trying next week.

Going to let the Cardinals go the length of the field on penalties alone.

    Fuming watching this

Most penalized team in the league and helping go further ahead

I can't remember a team getting 5 first downs on a single drive by penalty. 1 or 2 per game is typical.

    Cool design on that TD

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

Have the Cardinals drafted any QBs the last few years?
I've only been watching the NFL for 4/5 years and everytime Palmer goes down injured in comes Stanton. I'm not advocating getting one early but there must of been a few later on that were available that could of been coached up instead of turning to Stanton who we know isn't a potential starter and Palmer is old and injury prone.

Not that ~i remember, they had to go to Ryan Lindley at the end of one year when both Palmer and Stanton went down, and even used a 4th stringer (Logan something) to come in and play a half against Denver (he threw a 70 yard td but that was about as much as he did all season!)

....but no, I think they have wasted a window of opportunity riding with Palmer the last 3 years - as you mention he's frequently injured, and by no means in the upper echelon of NFL QBs. Strange.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,702 ✭✭✭MileHighGuy

.....actually, now that I think of it (and remembering Denver's current situation) I'd take my chance with Palmer in a heartbeat. It is a pity he seems to get injured, but not every QB can be Favre/Brady\Manning (Eli) when it comes to not missing games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Cardinals team just looks a bit old in the key positions

I wouldn't say get rid of Palmer, keep him as no.1 (over the last few years) but you should have a young guy that you're at least looking at. They'll be in a tough situation soon with Palmer surely not lasting much longer.

Or is there any chance they'd be in Kirk Cousins? Do they have the cap space?

The definition of a catch gets more ridiculous by the week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

I’m biased in the game, but I’d think we’d have gotten away with one if we dropped the ball like that and it wasn’t ruled a fumble

Absolutely ridiculous call for a non fumble. The same call was made against Denver in the Bills game. Sanders caught the ball, turned and took 3 steps, made nearly 10 yards and the ball got knocked out and he recovered. Ruled incomplete pass.....?

Could be made pay for the deep shot, plenty of time for Seattle, good field position and one timeout.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

    Just ridiculous

Another 2 first downs given by penalty

Sherman out for the season with after rupturing his Achilles tendon.
2018 will be a big year for him when he goes looking for maybe his final contract.

2018 will be a big year for him when he goes looking for maybe his final contract.

And I think it was only a short while ago he was saying Thursday night football was dangerous due to lack of recovery time I would imagine he will reiterate it this week

With Sherman gone, Jeremy Lane failing his medical with the Texans during the Brown trade may well yet prove to be a serious slice of luck. That's if he can stay fit himself for the remainder of the season!

Earl should be back next game. No word on Kam's injury yet.

This season has been brutal for injuries. I also think TNF has to go. Its just completely unfair on the players.

Sherman may honestly never be the same player again. He's 29, and Achilles is the worst injury you can get, tbh.

I know players complain but would they be willing to take the corresponding pay cut to get rid of playing Thursdays once a year? Apparently comes out to being around $100k per player and that is before the likely extra sponsorship players may receive for having another game in primetime.

Obviously, medically it is a no brainer.
