Hard to believe it's week 8 already!

Anyone know what game Sky are showing at 5? The ones involving the three AFC East teams look tasty...

Big test for the Steelers defense with the 4th quarter comebacks from Stafford. Important for the offense to get enough points on the board to help them out unlike the Chiefs game.

Dolphins at Ravens will be some viewing tonight.

Two of the worst offenses you'll ever see.

I think you are overblowing it a bit, the Browns, Broncos, Giants and Bengals are all pathetic.

Dolphins backup didn't look terrible last week after Cutty went out. Cutler has looked like someone who regrets coming out of retirement anyway, so maybe this guy can put some energy into them.

    That hit.

The Flacco hit was a bad hit but to call it filth is a bit strong. Joe Flacco needed to decide what to do (stay upright or slide) earlier than he did. Now he didn't deserve to get hit and he did look in a bad way after and I hope he's okay. The rules rightly brought in protect players and especially QBs work on a late hit or a deliberate hit with the helmet or to the helmet as far as I understand it. If a player with the ball changes his mind late then what is the tackling player meant to do ?

I kinda agree. Flacco, like quite a few QBs give themselves up quite late to gain the advantage. You're a runner when you take off like that.
But I do think Alonso could have not driven himself into the challenge like he did. QB or RB, he did aim the shot at the head.

And if Flacco had stayed up and Alonso had done the same as what he did he'd have hit him below the knees which is another no no. I understand the need to protect players but players making tackles or making the hits need to be certain of what they can do.

I'm sure if I had an interest I could find loads of dirty stuff from the Ravens too, and every other team for that matter.

Nothing to do with him staying up (who knows where Alonso when have hit him if he did) or going down; more that he left it late to give himself up.
I wasn't defending the hit, but QBs do tend to leave it quite late at times.

A 1:30pm kick off in the London game + a 12:30am kick off in Sunday Night Football + a Bank Holiday tomorrow = 14.5 hours of live football today! :D

No players looked to be kneeling in the London game.

Browns get an INT and Crowell runs in a 30 yard TD to put them up!

........aaaaaaaaaand they miss the extra point.

Free run to the goal line. QB over throws by miles under no presure..... :/

Football is strange at this time. It's not dark outside and it's too early for pizza or normal football food. I just had tea and a croissant.

Yep. I've actually enjoyed the game so far somewhat, but it's been a wretched advertisement for the sport.

Good end to the half. Terrible clock management by the Browns

Good end to the half. Terrible clock management by the Browns

It really was quite amazing how they took that timeout (and the one before it - clock was stopped but there were 18secs on the play clock, run it down a bit to talk over more) and the defensive playcalling on that last drive was like watching GB inside a two minute warning - just woeful.

But if the Vikings somehow manage a second turnover, 12 total points and 4 sacks (...that's going to be the killer) I win €90 off a tenner bet. In a perfect world, that all comes together but the Browns still win! :p

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

Well there's the second turnover at least!

Pretty cool moment on BBC's coverage with Chris Doleman (Vikings HOF'er) coming into the studio. Osi Umenyiora is there as always, and says that Doleman was his hero growing up and he remembers getting his autograph at the East/West Shrine game in 2002.

    He's visibly starstruck. :)

Vikings TD and not a hand put on him.

Kizer gets killed with the amount of brutal drops from his receivers. Does anyone have stats on this? The Browns must have the most drops or be very close to the top?

True, but I was thinking TE/FB/RB fade and they had Keenum down before he took his third step back so can't fault them too much. A split second quicker and he doesn't even get the hand off. Thought it was a very good play to call for the Vikings.

OK, quick Vikings TD followed by four consecutive sacks please! :pac:

I know 49ers were top going into last week and the drops they had against the Redskins two weeks ago were nothing short of comical, but Cleveland have been bad here. What they'd give to still have Terrelle Pryor (who also might regret changing teams).

Actually, before today the Browns were only 9th: http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/tmleaders.asp?range=nfl&rank=232&type=receiving - Kizer was missing in a big way earlier in the year though, might be different for drop percentages vs touched passes.

Case keenum felt that I'd say.
