Work Permit Required?

    Hello,

    I hold a valid GNIB Stamp 4 with the expiry date of 24/09/2018. I came to Ireland in September 2013 and applied for Start-up Entrepreneur Programme and have been working since then at a start-up company.

    Now I've got a new offer from a new company. I was wondering if I need to apply for a work permit to change my employer or I can work with my current GNIB Stamp 4?

    I went to INIS and asked a couple of solicitors and lawyers but everyone says different things. Some of them say I need to change my Stamp 4 to 1 and then apply for a work permit and some of them say you can work with your current Stamp 4.

    Also, it's worth saying that I never had a work permit in Ireland and I received Stamp 4 from the beginning. I got confused. If anyone had this experience before, I appreciate to help me.

    Do a search on here, nearly sure this came up in a thread last week. Is there a document with the stamp and details about what the stamp entitles you to?

    AFAIK stamp4 means you can work for any company

    Can you not ring a specialist lawyer and meet them to sort it out? Would be worth it to get the correct info.

    Today I'm going to meet them to sort that out.

    Snotty, the grant letter I've got is as follows:

    > Dear Hamed,
    >
    > I am pleased to inform you that on foot of the recommendation of the Evaluation Committee, the Minister for Justice and Equality has approved the application in repct of you to reside in Ireland under the Immigrant Investor Programme.
    >
    > In line with the conditions of the Immigrant Investor Programme you must submit an affidavit attesting to your good character and affirming that you have no criminal convictions. This affidavit must be produced by a legal practitioner who is registered to practice law in Ireland.
    >
    > On receipt of the affidavits, INIS will be in contact to arrange for the issue of appropriate immigration permission to you. All further correspondence should be sent to me at this address.

    When I received this letter four years ago, I went to a solicitor and got an affidavit and then went to INIS and got the GNIB Stamp 4.
