Training with Costochondritis

    Morning all,

Just wondering has anyone had or know anyone that has experience of training/working out with costochondritus?

I've had it for about 3 months now and find myself increasingly frustrated just pissed off wit my body.

I used to have such a good fitness routine, but due to the costo I can't do my normal 'routine'
I can't lift any thing over over 3/4kg, swimming hurts due to the pressure on my ribs and even using a leg machine causes pain.

In the last month i've left my job, where I was on my feet for 11/12 hours a day, had a 3 week holiday in thailand and moved back to Ireland after 4 years, coupled with a **** load of drinking and not watching my food and lack of exercise i've defo lost muscle tone and gain a bit of weight but I am ready to get my life in order and was hoping people in a similar position would have some advice!

    Thanks

Possibly an occupational therapist would be able to inform your approach. You could ask your gp to refer/suggest one.

I had (possibly still have) it, dips we the exercise that caused it to flair up so I cut those out, took a long time to go away/ease off so you may need to find ways to work around it.

I suffered from it a while back.Turns out it was from exertion in BJJ.Lots of heavy BJJ players on top of me and the physically hard movement sof trying to move someone/get a position.
I just rested while doing only spinning in the gym and it resolved itself.
