Hi! I have insurance with VHI. Something came up, where my girlfriend can’t take the initial flight over.

Anyway, has anyone been able to get reimbursed with VHI for not being able to make a flight due to work commitments? Flights with Aer Lingus, Return for two people. About €300 worth.

Looking at their policy document, it would appear that a change in work circumstances is a specific exclusion, which would be industry standard. The Cancellation & Curtailment cover is designed for not being able to travel for medical reasons

Work commitments would not be covered.

Might work out best to reschedule your original booking, the fee might be lower than a fresh booking.

The terms and conditions are here

Its all very fair but I dont see where you can just decide to not travel, which is your choice rather than an insurable risk.
