Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

how do Met Éireann class weather warnings?

    well today here in Sligo the weather has been shockingly blustery - yet no kind of weather warning I didnt hear of. in fact I think it has been the same or even more windy today than when we got a yellow weather warning from Met Éireann

    The official criteria for Met Éireann's warning system can be found here.

    The criteria for a yellow wind warning is either "Mean Speeds between 50 and 65 km/h" or
    "Gusts between 90 and 110 km/h"

    Sligo Airport was nowhere near yellow status yesterday. The strongest wind recorded all day was briefly 21 gust 42 knots (39 gust 78 km/h) at 11.30, but it was below that the rest of the time.
