The LGTBQ+-XYZ whatever your having yourself crowd

Has anyone ever explained to them that we're only into it for their money?

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

They'll start into the Greek Alphabet once they run out, just like the American Hurricane Centre does when it runs out of names for storms :D

Looking forward to hearing a defense for this screwball

That's somewhere between weird fetish and mental illness and definitely just creepy.

It most certainly isn't a "thing" in my view. I've lost pretty much all tolerance for the notion that every random condition/notion needs to be validated and accepted at this stage.

This is fcuking weird, anyone Could be born trans I guess and i wish no harm to em if they are

But this wan (?)openly admits to having a family etc before and now identifies as a 6 year old

It's proper professional help they need,
...not to hanging around somebodies kids

I first read about stephonknee a couple of years ago. It's not a new thing. I'm sill traumatised tbh. The relationship with his "adopted father", the fact that there actually is a real child in the house. It's all very disturbing and I hope that they are being monitored in some way

I was watching a documentary about the Voyager space probe launched in the 70s and still going. As part of the time capsule they inserted into the probe they put things such as a solar system map, information about earth and a picture of a human male and a pregnant female.

I can only imagine the amount of nonsense that would happen if they launched it now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 737 ✭✭✭murphthesmurf

I didn't believe you until I clicked the links. How can any sane person take this nonsense seriously. I'm gobsmacked. He is a seriously disturbed man, the 2 Canadians that are allowing him to play with their grandchildren should be banned from having any contact with them. Imagine leaving your young children with their grandparents for a few hours and when you come back some aul fella in a dress and lipstick is playing Barbie with them.
This is going to be the next 'thing' now that all the lefty liberals have to get behind in order to stay cool. I can't wait to hear some of the ****e that people are going to come out with in this thread to justify his behaviour. He is clearly severely mentally disturbed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,812 ✭✭✭✭sbsquarepants

I'm very much a live and let live type - but I think this guy has some sort of mental health issues. I have no problem with trans people - if you feel like you're the wrong gender, change it - the technology exists so why not. But you can't just decide you're 6 fúcking years old when you're middle aged. That's nuts plain and simple!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,488 ✭✭✭Goodshape

The Mail Online posting sensationalist nonsense?

Well I'm certainly shocked and outraged.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

It's not a 'thing' it's one guy and it's being blown out of all proportion by Turning Point USA, a deeply conservative right-wing organisation run by Charlie Kirk, who among other things has a website called professorwatchlist.org which has the stated aim of 'identifying and exposing professors who have demonstrated liberal bias."

What we have here is a man who’s clearly cracked and a very dodgy organisation looking to exploit that for their own agenda. Unsurprisingly, the Daily Mail have decided to further spread this nonsense.

They all look really old in Nambia so nothing weird there:p.

Seriously though. Some people need help. However the title is bull (as I expected). It is not a thing however much people want to pummel the left with it and has been blown out of proportion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 197 ✭✭daithi84

This is NOT a LGBT subset thing. This is the Daily Mail so anything should be taken with a mountain load of salt. Trans is one thing, pretending to be a child is a different area entirely. To me its a case of someone who is actually trans but has other issues going on that they want to revert to a child like state. Not unheard of in cases minus the trans bit but this is being used as another smear against trans people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,786 ✭✭✭wakka12

One daily mail article example does not 'a thing' make

And what does this have to do with lgbt people anyway?

    I blame society*

    * actually I do. The social pressures of today can cause people to regress in an urge to get back to simpler times when they were small.

    Yeah, could be

I'd be very hesitant to go down the closet paedophile route as an explanation.

This was first reported on in other publications over a year ago. D.M like to recycle articles on slow news days.

The subject matter is indeed strange and I'm not convinced that the best course of treatment is enablement. I don't think it will help the sufferer in the long run.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 737 ✭✭✭murphthesmurf

Sometimes I identify as a 2 year old boy and I need breast feeding. Other times I identify as a fetus and need to get 'back in the womb'. It's a tough life being trans-age.

He needs to go to a mental ward.

Can I be twenty one again?

This. Whilst I am all for LGBT and have nothing against it, if you are a mature adult, go for what ever makes you happy. But as a 30 some thing single bloke, I don't want to be going out looking for a single female, and hoping she does not infact have a willy.

Maybe it is just my age, but it too was simpler when I was in my 20s as well.

    :o

It's amazing how the amount of these nut-jobs have come more normal just as society as a whole has dumbed-down.

Societal standards and norms are reaching dangerous levels. Forced to accept everything that wasn't a thing a decade ago, because you know the "faux outrage" internet brigade/campaign groups will hound you into submission otherwise.

I look forward to not listening to that.

I firmly believe in live and let live but this is just ****ing weird. Like the sort of stuff that would have appeared on Eurotrash for the craic a few years back where he would be dubbed with a working class Geordie voice over.

More evidence on how cracked the people of this world have become

    This PART of the world.

It's really only a handful of Western first-world countries that have embraced this inward-looking, validation-seeking nonsense that's all over the likes of Facebook and Twitter... and then given validation and legitimacy by lazy "news" media copy/pasting it (just look at the homepages of a lot of them these days.. full of social media "stories")

It started in the late 80s with the advent of satellite TV and US culture being imported via the likes of Sky (Geraldo, Oprah, Sally Jesse etc) telling us "yes you're special, nothing is your fault - it's "society" or "disadvantage" or "ism's" etc, and then with Reality TV and celeb culture (where every z-lister and their behaviour got airtime), but with almost universal Internet access in these countries and the aforementioned Twitter and Facebook, EVERYONE can have their 15 minutes of fame.

And then you have Ireland.. where many seem to absorb the worst of this stuff from the US/UK like a sponge.. which I put it down to a cultural "need" to be liked/validated - "everyone loves the Irish" etc.

There's are so many ways to regress to childhood now though, whether it's a life playing computer games in your parents attic or attending Harry Potter conventions dressed up and plastering your house in fan crap. Adulthood is already almost optional and avoidable for those who resist it most fervently.
I don't think the desire for simpler times can explain this mans behaviour. It seems more onto delusional thinking or something pathological. Whatever it is it needs to be helped and not validated as a life choice.
