8 week ban, that'll show him :pac:

A shocking lenient suspension even if only provisional.

    Sends out the wrong message.

    48 weeks v 8 weeks ?

    What incident is actually worse?

Both incidents shud result in long suspensions and the rules need to be updated to allow for this.

Another brawl in Cork. People are eejits and it seems like it's the thing to get involved in now.

Absolutely - no mercy on this stuff.

I have heard people saying it was always there, and it probably was to some extent - shame on the GAA for historically turning a blind eye in many ways.

It is unquestionably getting worse though and becoming more commonplace.

It is filtering down through the age groups which is frankly sad.

Not fully correct, rule book sets out a minimum suspension of 8 weeks. There is no maximum. Kerry country board missed out on setting an example to stamp out this cowardly behaviour

8 weeks is pathetic- genuinely embarrassed by this!
If a Tyrone mentor came on to the pitch and hit Clifford or Sean o Shea next year- we’d want him banned for life.

Really poor from our county board and have set a idiotic precedent here

I know this wont stop incidents like this happening but I think its time for the subs, club officials and mentors to be moved over to the stand side of the pitch in Austin Stack Park,

Put the subs up into the stand like they have in other grounds, have an area either side of the tunnel for each team

This has nothing to do with the problem. The reall problem is that even though we have plenty of rules in GAA when it comes to incidents like thsi the GAA fails to come down hard on the individuals and clubs fail in there responsibility as well. This should be a 6-12 month ban for a person on the sideline attacking a player. He should actually be charge with assauly by the Gardai. But Dingle club should take action as well. But we all know taht this will not happen.

In reality Central council should act in cases like thsi and charge people with bringing the game into disrepute. Clubs should be sanctioned as well unless they take action. If Dingle club knew that after an incident like thsi there would be action taken against the club they would make sure it never happened again

I think it would solve a lot of problems though if the subs and mentors were put up in the stand, this is the second time this year that I know of this has happened in this county and both times its happened in Austin Stack Park, sidelines mobbed with people some who dont need to be there, any row starts its everyone in then and getting involved

Both times its happened near the sub bench as well

If the county board dont fine the Dingle club then they are going against to what they did earlier in the year when they fined both Ardfert and John Mitchells for the the bust up in the Intermediate championship

U21 Final of 1990 Billy o'Sullivan scored 4-1. Did he ever do much at senior after?

James Costello from Blennerville is the new minor boss. Must admit I don't know anything about him but it says on the website he's been involved with development squads and was over the under 16s which will obviously help with the new minor age. Peter Keane will be a hard act to follow but hopefully he keeps the production line ticking over. Best of luck to him.

Delighted for Clifford getting YPOTY - was always going to be between him and Howard, so great to see him get the nod.

thought Howard should have got it myself due to the fact that Kerry didn't get out of super 8s.

Young player of the year is an individual award so why would that matter?

Yet another person who doesn't understand the difference between team and individual awards. You'll figure it out someday

So you'd have no problem with the actual player of the year going to someone who never even got to the semi-finals?

Ya and as well the YPOTY and the POTY are voted on by the players while the journalists decide the All Stars. While Howard had a good year in a well structured team. Clifford nearly dragged Kerry out of the Super 8's by himself. For a lad playing in his first Championship at 19 years of age it was an amazing achievement.

I think with the new format and more games there should be no reason why a player that excels in the Super 8’s can’t win it. There are only three games left after that.

It will probably go to one of the finalists most often but why should McManus or players like him be in the running if their team goes out early. It’s an individual award.

that doesn't matter. Howard still was the best player for that award. Clifford played brillant throughout the year but he was def in 2nd place for this award. Sometimes you wonder how these awards are given out.

team or no team it's an individual award and Howard definately deserved it I thought. Clifford was brillant but Kerry didn't get out of the super 8s for Clifford to merit the award.

it should be given to the best individual so that's why it matters. Howard definately shaded it over Clifford.
