There is a free car park right beside the stadium that is big enough and should be fine to get a spot for this match.

There is an official Kerry GAA free car park a 10 minute walk away at the Rose hotel. That one is massive and will be absolutley no problem getting a spot. Also gives you easy access back out to the main road after.

Thanks very much for that. Just clarifying is the car park beside the ground you're referring too the Dunnes Car park, can see it on Goggle maps.

Yep, that's the one. just a bit awkward to leave after as it can be busy with everyone getting out but never massively long to get out all the same.

Hope we get Armagh in the QF, we need to beat whoever if we have ambitions for the AI, and we need a challenge as if we do win we would be facing Dublin, don't fancy Clare or even Mayo to give us much of a challenge.

I dont know how mayo always manage to limp through the qualifiers and then transform into an almost different team for crunch games but they've done it over the years and their resilience is impressive.

If Kerry are going to win an all Ireland, you need to be beating the top teams and Mayo are certainly still a top team. I expect Kerry to win like I expect them to win every game. One thing is for sure, it wont be a "soft" all Ireland having to go through Mayo and the Dubs if they finally manage to do it. I'm looking forward to the Mayo game though and hopefully we come out the right side of it.

Only bad news I'm hearing is that Clifford is still not 100% so really hope that's sorted.

4pm on the Sunday is a decent one for anyone travelling up and down on the day. Not a mad early start and still home by 11pm.

I dont know about that. Travelling from Sneem normally takes about 5 hours. So by the time I'm back to the car and hit the road home you will prob be talking half. If there is no extra time etc.

Add in the half hour to stop for a break from driving / coffee on the way down so it will probably be midnight or after before home. Was looking at the price of hotels for the Saturday night in Dublin or even Meath to break up the driving. Would be more better to fly up and down from Farranfore only the return flight is at half 4.

Yeah, that's fair and obviously some have further to travel than others but even midnight is a reasonable time to be getting in at and no need to take the Monday off.

Park somewhere close-ish to the stadium, get back to the car asap after the game and don't stop on the way home. I do not miss having to do that journey though.

Quarters are always on in croke park. Limerick was an outlier as a replay that clashed with other games in croke park. I cant fully remember but assume the hurling would have been on the same weekend as the replay so they had it in Limerick.

I know they've always been in croker, v v few of them with any atmosphere though

Pity the bigger grounds in provences are made better use of

Would rather a full provincial ground than 40-50k in croker

I agree. Hopefully they'll be reconsidered if attendance is as low as the qualifiers at the weekend.

Didn't the replay in 2014 clash with an American Football game played in Croke Park?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,628 ✭✭✭dobman88

Yeah, maybe that was it. I can't remember at all tbh.

Team I would like see Sunday

    Shane Ryan

    Dan Donoghue

    Jason Foley

    Tom O'Sullivan

    Graham O Sullivan

    Jack Barry

    Diarmuid O Connor

    Adrian Spillane

    Sean O Se

    Stephen O Brien

    Paul Geaney

    David Clifford

    Paudie Clifford

I am presuming that both DC and DoD will be fit. If not then I would presume O'Bealoigh and Killian Spillane in.

Dan O'Donoghue and Dara Moynihan both training on their own away from the squad I believe.

David is back in with the squad.

Dylan Casey out for the season after his Injury Vs Limerick.

With the amount of injuries to players with "D" as their first letter Diarmuid O'C and David Moran would want to be careful.

Are we playing 13 a side now.

Add Gavin White and Morley in there.

Feck it, we'd bate them with 13!

I am getting a bit jittery that it will be like 2020/2021 where we will trip over our own laces again.

If we think we can just play all attacking football and win is what O am afraid of. We have had no real game for four weeks. Mayo I think will be well up for it there is nothing coming out of there camp.

Would O Beaglaoich not start? Played well in every game he has played this year. Not sure Dan O Donoghue is 100% either.

Nearly every Kerry player played well in every match this year so far. If Dan O Donoghue is fit I would start him. Neither Graham O'Sullivan or O Beaghlaoich are classic corner backs. While either might work against Mayo, it after that I am worried about, if we win we face Dublin.

I really want to see Rock running up the field after Tom O' Sullivan. That will not happen unless DoD is on the field as otherwise ToS will be needed to mark who is in the corner.

I don't imagine we will see much of Dan O'Donoghue for the rest of the Championship fit or not.

Played well in 3 league games but has missed a significant amount of game time since. Will be hard for him to break back into the team.

Graham O'Sullivan has now strengthened his position and O'Beaglaoich is a good bit ahead of him now.

Neither of O'Sullivan or O'Beaglaoich are nailed on in my opinion.

I would not be a bit surprised to see O'Donoghue starting Sunday.

Are we forgetting about Paul Murphy in this discussion. Or has he had his day? He will likely play against Mayo whether from the start or from the bench.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 20,830 ✭✭✭✭Bass Reeves

I would not be starting Paul Murphy. All the other option are better starting than him

I like Dan and he played very well in the League. He has strength, height and reads the game very well.

However he hasn't played a match in 4 months. I would be shocked (actually worried) if he starts or plays more than a few minutes on Sunday.

In terms of the current panel dynamics I'd consider both O'Beaglaoich and Graham O'Sullivan as nailed on starters until they play poorly.

Can’t see how that information is correct as weeks ago Dan O’Donoghue was playing full games with Spa so he’s definitely training fully. Also Jack was very clear that Moynihan is 100% available for selection and has been in full training.
