Looking for advice on a Personal Trainer or physio in the Cork area, who may specialise/have experience in dealing with women who are diagnosed with early onset osteoporosis and how can continue doing weightlifting in a safe manner. Have been lifting for a few years but getting nervous now about deadlifts and squats in case am putting pressure on spine. At same time am just in early 40s and weightlifting is meant to be beneficial so want to continue..its meant to help build bones and muscle. If I stop, then I'll lose muscle and bone so am torn ! GP hasn't a clue. Internet is saying it's great for prevention but what about when you actually have the disease? Maybe low weights and high reps with perfect form is the solution?
