FTFY! Here comes the science bit.

    * Of course 'saving' money = more money in your savings. FACT!

Ergo, they more you spend in BA the more you save therefore the more you have
.....to spend on bargains to save more to....

    Essentially a 'tame circle'!

    Cheers OP.

Thanks OP, I doubt the quality will be anything to write home about but might come in handy in case of a dodgy incident - simply pointing to the device on the windscreen might be enough to change any potential scammers tune.

Just a question anyone have might any opinions or answers on "motion detection function and G-sensor function" so it starts recording if there is something in front of you, it would be recording all the time so if driving behind someone? How long would the battery last?

got it because my other cheap cam was 140 degree and was quite ****e. Even if this one is ****e, it was only 7 quid and has 170 degree view.

    Thanks OP.

    Bought 2 of them.

Note that coupon AK5471 works once, regardless of cart's content, so 6 off one item as well as 6 off 2 items (not 12 as some may expect). Used that to find out if order in EUR or USD is cheaper, see below:

Ordered in USD, paid 7.18 EUR.

Ordered in EUR, paid 6.96 EUR.

    Both transactions through Paypal.

So any deals on memory cards for these new dashcams of ours ?

I think a TF card is the new name for an SD card. Anyone know of deals?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 344 ✭✭Sevenie

Anyone any idea how long the battery will last?

TF is a Transflash card, same as MicroSD.

I usually buy from either of these two
    https://www.memoryc.com/search.html?q=micro+sd&Submit=Submit#Search[]=micro+sd&orderby=price&page=0
    https://www.mymemory.ie/memory/memory-cards/micro-sd.html

There are plenty of offers on the Chinese sites for Samsung and Sandisk MicroSD cards, but i am not sure they are 100% legit.

But if you want to check out the prices https://www.aliexpress.com/af/micro-sd.html?SearchText=micro+sd&ltype=wholesale&d=y&blanktest=0&initiative_id=SB_20170917040309&origin=n&catId=0&isViewCP=y

I am guessing roughly between 15 - 25 minutes continuous. I do not know for sure.
There is a car charger supplied.
    Battery is 5V/1.5A.

Still working for me, maybe there is a space at the beginning or end of your code?

Do you reckon there's much of a drain from this? I've a permanently live cigarette lighter socket, so don't want this killing battery!

Check the cars manual, alot of cars with constant feed to lighter will have two fuse positions, one for constant and one for ignition.

I thought my Audi had constant power to the lighter until I checked it out and power just stayed on after the ignition was turned off for a few seconds, much like the interior lights.

If it's worth getting one, it has to be worth getting two.

Is there any internal memory or do you have to have an SD card for this to operate?

It says it supports a TF card which I believe is another name for a micro SD.

    Dear Otto,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding:https://www.tomtop.com/p-k5471b.html
Your original question is How long does the Battery last on average with these, before it requires recharging?
    Reply By Customer Service Center:
HI it is about 72 hours. BR
You can also email to me for more details: service@tomtop.com
    Best regards,
    TOMTOP Customer Service Team

I do not believe for a second that it will last 72 hours.
I think my original guess was closer.

    "Battery: 5V/1.5A battery"

I don't think it even has a battery - that just looks like the required electrical input type. There's nothing listed with "mAh" anywhere.

I think it is the same as the NOVATEK Car DVR Camera GT300. Quite a few reviews, but i have not watched them all, so i do not know what the battery is yet :)

One of the reviews: "Everything is ok, only the battery in the manual says 8 hours, working only 30 minutes, I have to charge all the time. But anyway the rest is fine."

I've bought a couple of the cheaper ones and the batteries are always s**te, a few minutes at best. Just plug it into the cigarette lighter and leave it there.

Keep that in the vault lads, in case you get a 140 and not the 170 you ordered...

actually, looking at what got ordered on mine, it says a 140degree angle camera.

still for 7Eur or no dashcam, i cant see this being too bad a deal. still a bargain imo

Just realized this, I ordered it and went from 170 to 140. Why would they do that ?

Checked my order and it definitely says 170 but I suspect we will all be getting a 140 camera and then immediately opening PayPal disputes
