How to pick a solicitor for buying a property?

As the title says, what are the most important criteria for picking a solicitor for buying a property? (Asking as a FTB with no experience in this area).

Other than the obvious (price, quote breakdown), what questions should one ask the solicitor in question that would help inform one's decision?

In my case, I'm looking at buying an apartment in Dublin. If you've had a great solicitor in the past for this - would you mind also recommending them in a PM to me?

    Many thanks!

To be honest look for family recommendations. One that specialises in property is great but not essential. What we did was ask for quotes and costing files out to solictors in our area and waited for a reply. The one with the fastest and most prepared response won. Have files and documents all ready with full costing.
