Ireland Girls Schools Team Win 7s in Loughborough 2017

This Irish Rugby Schools team deserve great credit for outstanding performances over the weekend at the School Games in Loughborough, beating a Wales team in the final 19-10 that had beaten them in the pool stages, showing great resilience and playing for each other.

Good on them. Shame if they want to advance now the women's game in Ireland appears to be in a shambolic state...

maybe we don't have the strength in depth right now is questionable but long term the prospects look far from a shambles, women's rugby is very well organised across the country and you only have to look at all the mini rugby touraments and userage womens to see that it is very popular and growing amongst the opposite sex.

yeah they've done well. Had been trying to do some updates in the general Irish 7s thread but had forgotten about this tournament. They've done well considering small numbers playing and although ladies world cup was disappointing on the pitch it was success off and hopefully can help get more girls playing the sport

it isn't really. If you look at all levels from girls to women's club game etc it isn't at all.

it's fairly well organised. Not so sure about very well organised. There isn't that many girls mini rugby events and underage girls competitions are still extremely small in terms of competitors.
