It looks quite good but it may get released in Europe this time but no doubt no network will pick it up which means I won't be able to get it :( Though 5mp on the front camera is very poor.

LG noted that the V30 Plus with 128 GB of storage will be available in “limited markets”, though it didn’t mention which ones.

Very interested in this. Had both the v10 and the v20. Got rid of both of those as I had issues with both. But if you listen to music as much as me you can't look past them. The v20 was incredible. Made all the galaxys and iPhones sound just flat and boring.

    What type of issues?
    Were they hardware related?
Never owned an LG, but I've seen some owners complaining of issues e.g. bootloop G4

Be interested to know your issues as well. I hope to be getting this as an upgrade to a G6. Specs look great. Waiting on more reviews to pop up also.

On Android Authority its saying it will get a global release. Ill be in the US on release day so might pick it up not sure. I was waiting for the pixel 2 but now i dont know

First phone this season I'm genuinly considering getting.

The S8/+ look great, but I'm concerned about the samsung laggy software and bloatware. My G4 is still pretty smooth considering how much I hammer it, and the hardware is great (ok I had it replaced twice for the bootloop issue but since then it's been great).

I'm going to wait until I see the Pixel 2 though before I make a decision. If they fix the awful design from the first gen, and bring the rest of the specs uptodate, it'll be a tempting offer.

Come on now, we all know you're never going to upgrade. You've been ummimg and ahhing forever and there's something wrong with every device :D

Sorry that it's a huge decision for me as I don't have a lot of money and I can't afford to buy phones outright and it's something that I have to live with for two years so I have to be 100% sure.

I'm only messing. If you can't afford to buy this outright, are you expecting carriers here to finally start offering LG devices?

It's just a phone, though. Don't build it up into a life-changing decision. It's like when my Mrs takes half an hour to decide on which meal to have at a restaurant, then she regrets her choice when the food comes. :D

The V30 definitely looks a decent phone. I can't see any real weak points with it, seems to cover most bases. Has the price been announced?

It's looking like $750. About €630. Not bad considering the Note 8 is closer to a grand.

    http://m.gsmarena.com/lg_v30_will_probably_cost_749-news-27084.php

US prices never equate to EU prices. A $750 phone will cost €750 at least.

No, headphone sound. The LG's have a decent DAC in them.

How did the V20 sound compare to listening to music on the usonics on the U11? It's brilliant on the latter.

Don't know, I just know they're very good. Up there with HTC quality, maybe better.

With the V20 wasn't it two skews, one with the full blown DAC and one with NFC or something.

If the V30 comes in at 700-750e I'd consider moving from my U11 for one. Although I'd give it a month or two to see where the prices settle at.

    Trying to be a Pixel.

LG need the V30 to be a success and at 1,000 EUR or USD that is never going to happen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,635 ✭✭✭jenno86

    Any official word on price?

South Korea gets it on Thursday apparently. Looks like there will be some VR package available in some markets.

    PhoneArena
LG just sent us a press release about the V30 global launch today, and it is starting with its home turf of South Korea, of course, but the phone will be gradually rolled out to North America, Europe and other markets in the coming weeks, tips LG. Unfortunately, there are no pricing details for the Americas or Europe, but in Korea the LG V30 is expected to land with a tag equivalent to $840 for the 64 GB version, and $885 for the 128 GB model.

As a reminder, amidst all the bezel-less controversies surrounding Apple's "notch" on the iPhone X, or the form factor of the Galaxy S8, the LG V30 actually manages to stuff a 6" HDR display, albeit also in the trendy 18:9 aspect, into a body that is no bigger than that of a compact 5.5-incher, which is a sweet feat.

It also sports dual cameras with zoom and depth of field tricks, excellent audio prowess, a comfortable rear-placed power key/finger scanner, and an exquisite glass chassis that is a pleasure to feel or simply look at. LG might have a winner on its hands with the V30 this time around, as, in the era of thousand dollar phones, its high price might go down unnoticed.
