One thing to do with boats that I'm not very good at is the electronics so hopefully someone more tech minded can help me I'm using a Garmin echomap chirp 75dv/sv and am having a hard time viewing my sideview recordings on homeport I have tried different colours and can only get a bad image in orange or a very faded one in blue, is there any way to fix this or is there another site beside homeport that I can view sideview recordings on. Thanks

Garmin tend to do everything proprietary leaving you little choice on software, cables or readers. I don't have your model Garmin but I have found they can be really sensitive to cable /connector quality/seating so maybe worth trying to clean reseat all connectors. The only other potential issue I could suggest is perhaps your scan files are very large and your PC might struggle to display them.

I did a bit more digging on it and it turns out to be a problem with homeport it can't read sidevu sonar at the moment and they have no plans to update it  the only other site that I found that can read RSD files is SonarTRX http://www.sonartrx.com/web/Home/Products but it's €100 :(
