What is the best luxury car second hand from 2008 to 2011 excluding Lexus LS 460 as there to out dated inside and the BMW 7series as there just outdated.excluding exotic cars also.

Can I assume that those who suggested different types of cars do actually owned one and can speak of there experience of owning one, dont just suggest what you like unless you have owned one yourself. Thanks...

The one that comes with the driver. None of the above is not luxury car in fairness... RR, Bentley, Maybach - those are luxurious brands and I would focus my search on those.

Well I'm not well off enough for a chauffeur unfortunately. But I would like your opinion on the matter. Why do you not consider the above luxury and what would you recommend.

Well the s class is good enough for our head of state it can't be bad.

Its not a bad car as of such. It is used by our head of government and by the heads of most states so it can't be that bad.

You should look carefully at fiat models. You may need to buy more than one to get up to 3l, and either get all the same colour or try to get complementary tonea

No. It is as luxury as an Apple Watch. A ten grand Rolex is luxurious.

7-series sends a message 'I have heaps of money'. Luxury items go further, they represent attitude 'I don't really care what money is'.

The 7 is a fine car but the rides to firm.

Again a nice car but I'm not a playboy. Speed no longer interests me. Comfort and refinement are all I want.

While the cars you mentioned are nice they are in a different league altogether.

And the only feedback you get is 'What is that? A stretched Passat?'.
Despite being an excellent car, W12 et al, the Phaeton was a complete fiasco.

    phaeton is stealth wealth

Or for real stealth wealth, buy a 12 year old Fiat Punto, and then "underseal" it with gold plating (those cars are often starting to develop corrosion at this age, so need a bit of tlc).

yes that's a brilliant idea and totally the same as a bentley that looks like a passat

Id probably go for the S class, it received a facelift in 2010... The euro is trading at just under 93p at the moment, Id take a look at prices over there too...

    Secondhand is never luxurious.

    VW Phaeton

Well if I was a billionaire it would of course be a rolls Royce and I would not be driving it. But thankfully I have not made my billions yet and hopefully never will. But as for the vw phaeton yuk yuk.. Horrendous looking car both inside and out. Then there is that badge.

I'm fond of classic cars indeed. And I see a lovely Ford sierra cosworth for sale for 50k,1986 I think it was. I would love it but not to drive just to have for display.

The badge can be taken off of course. With the schools back, you'd probably find a 10 year old who'd be happy to remove it for free if he could keep it as a souvenir.

I've never seen one irl but there is something I really like about them. The interior looks a bit boring but it sounds like it would be a lovely smooth ride.
