94th minute equaliser from Cagliari's Nandez to deny Napoli. That goal could have huge implications for the CL and relegation places.

And Palacio at 39 years old is the oldest player to score a hat-trick in Serie A.

    Juve 1-0 down to Udinese.

    Delighted for Inter, deserving winners

As tough as it is to see Inter pull away from Milan and get closer to 2 stars the did deserve it and mostly we can all celebrate today as that shameful record breaking Juve run is finally over.

Delighted for Handanović in particular he's been one of the best keepers in Serie A for almost 15 years and one of the most underrated in Europe. And surely Lukaku is player of the season

As an Inter fan I can't quite believe it, I didn't think Conte had sorted out the issues but he found a way, aided greatly by Juve's rash decision to hand the reins to Pirlo, but I'll take it. Also delighted for Eriksen who was in the wilderness at one point yet eventually managed to play a pivotal part in the success!

Good old shocking referees decision going Juves way again

Silly handball from De Paul to concede a pen. Ronaldo scores it for 1-1. Juve have around ten minutes including stoppage time to pull out a win.

2-1 now! Ronaldo with a late header to surely win it. Big goal for Juve and possibly Pirlo's future.

Great goal from Ronaldo to put Juve ahead

Hunchbacks strike again. Keeper was woeful for the second. They have Milan, Inter, Atalanta, Sassuolo and Bologna in their remaining fixtures. Hopefully they finish outside champions league spots.

I think Handanović has had a poor season. A lot of errors.

Crucial win for Juve. Thought they were going to squander the opportunity after Atalanta and Napoli dropped points. The game with Milan next week should be good.

For all the talk of Lukaku, Ronaldo has top scorer wrapped up even if he quit now.

Torino 1-0 up, if they win Parma are down.

edit: And it ends 1-0, Parma relegated.

It's a good move for Mourinho. He's at his best when taking charge of a team with and tier down and with lower expectations or who are underperforming, making them believe they are world beaters

I’d like to see Mourinho do well there. Would be good for the league if Roma were stronger.

From a purist point of view don’t look forward to seeing Zaniolo playing as a defensive winger. Before the two big injuries he was such an exciting player. Hopefully he comes back strong.

How did that work out with Spurs again?

Fonseca is now the back up plan for Leeds, just in case Bielsa doesn't extend his contract - but he will, won't he!!
As for Mourinho, I don't know. I thought he would just become a pundit or eventually Portuguese manager. What do I know.

It's a shame there isn't a broader betting market for the more intangible outcomes, such as:

Will José Mourinho alienate popular members of the first team and publicly criticise the players he has at his disposal, ultimately leading to a dour and negative atmosphere at the club culminating in the players downing tools and Mourinho being made redundant at a cost of many millions to Roma?

    Yes 1/12
    No 25/1

    Unrealistic expectation at Spurs

I can't believed he's blagged his way into another 2 or 3 year "project".

    Unrealistic expectation at Spurs

Spurs job was tailor made for Mourinho. He had brilliant attackers that could win games on their own so Jose could just concentrate on honing a strong defensive unit.

It worked (well the attackers done their part) for a couple of months and then crashed cataclysmically.

I really hope Roma were not stupid enough to pay him what Spurs did and have a good get out clause if he fails

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,847 ✭✭✭EltonJohn69

Roma were lucky to get a manager of his caliber.

    Agree.
Mediocre club the last couple of seasons. Dzeko on last legs. Good few are 30+. Monchi gone and his signings haven't worked out. Doesnt appear to have much cash from new owners to overhaul squad.

Mourinho is ridiculed for what has happened in the last 10 years. Mostly with justification.
But it is still only 10 yeas ago when he was on course to go down as one of the greatest mangers.
Other than the fact that he prefers to work with more established players this Roma doesn't look like a great fit for either of them.
Top 3 would be an achievement next season.

Big changes in the Coppa Italia next season with only the top two divisions taking part.
