    Good second half.

Might have been one of the worst free kicks possible at the worst time by Biglia it wasn't so surprising.
Nice goal by Romagnoli but an unimpressive showing. I still don't see the style of football Montella wants to play. Still in 7th but the top 6 have all beaten us.

Napoli host Juve in 2 weeks. Looking key already. I don't hold much confidence in the Neapolitans in the long run tho. Hope I'm wrong :o

Sampdoria often put it up to Juventus but yes, a great result for them.

We need to make sure we take advantage of Juventus, Lazio and Milan's poor results this weekend but Atalanta are never easy.

    Inter have been awful

    But they have Icardi.

    Best finisher in world football.

2-0 to Inter with 25 mins to go.

Not the best of performances but deserved the win against a tricky opponent.

Another article that would prove that what 95% of fans believe about Italian football is wrong

Spalletti has done such a brilliant job with Inter. It's amazing the turn around compared to last season.

    Another brace for Icardi!

Napoli up one nil. Jorginho missed the penalty but scored the rebound.

How is Montella still in a job:mad:. 11 points off 4th(and roma have a game in hand) before December considering the ludicrous money he spent is shockingly poor.

So Montella gone and Gattuso in.

No sure I'm the biggest fan of that appointment. It's like hiring a Roy Keane. Unbelievable professional and Intimidating presence but not that bright.

Actually if I'm not wrong Pirlo dedicated about 5 pages in his book to how dim and hot headed Rino was.

Brocchi, Pippo & Seedorf were all bad appointments. Pretty sure Rino has been doing bad with the AC Primavera side too.
Milan were going nowhere under Montella but they clearly can't afford to hire anyone right now either with all the questions over the ownership at present.

    Wish him the best tbh.
Napoli host Juve in a huge game tomorrow. Genuinely think Benevento will give Milan a scare on Sunday too.

I was thinking how mad would it be if this turned out to be the game where Benevento get their first point.

Napoli vs Juve should be a fascinating one. Sampdoria vs Lazio on Sunday could be fun as well.

Roma vs SPAL is about to start on Eir/BT Sport.

Update: VAR in the spotlight again. Felipe brings down Dzeko outside the box. Ref's initial decision is a yellow card for Felipe but he reviews the decision and decides it's a straight red. SPAL down to ten men for next 80 minutes. I thought it was harsh.

Goal: Dzeko's shot in off the post. Could be a hat-trick in this game for him.

2-0 now. Strootman blasts it home.

    Update: 3-0 now. Pellegrini header.

And a minute lader SPAL get a peno!

Oh my goodness what a minute! Viviani scores from the spot, the ref demands it be retaken due to encroachment, Viviani tries a Panenka which is saved but he fires in the rebound!

Full-Time and Roma win 3-1. The red card in the first ten minutes changed everything.

Teams for Napoli vs Juventus are in:
Napoli XI: Reina; Hysaj, Albiol, Koulibaly, Mario Rui; Allan, Jorginho, Hamsik; Callejon, Mertens, Insigne.

Juventus XI: Buffon; De Sciglio, Benatia, Chiellini, Asamoah; Khedira, Pjanic, Matuidi; Douglas Costa, Dybala; Higuain.

I didn't know Napoli and juve was today. I can't wait for this.

1-0 Juve. Higuain scores after a great break from Costa and Dybala.

Update: Juve lead at the break. Napoli have had some decent moments but lacking quality and composure in the last third.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,856 ✭✭✭irishguitarlad

Napoli seem to have let the pressure get to them. Although I have to say that Juventus' defence has been excellent and there's a reason that this team has gone to two champions league finals in the last three years.

I'm just home so can't comment on the first half. I really, really hope this won't be a case of Napoli under delivering on a big occasion again. :(

I thought that was a Napoli peno at first glance. Interested to see the replay.

Having seen it I don't think it was.

    Wow some save from Reina.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Napoli haven't looked like scoring once. An awful second half & likely overall performance at the single worst possible moment you could have it.

Full-Time and Juve win 1-0. A deserved win for the away side. Defended very well and Napoli never really looked like breaking them down.
