The Conte affect taking full effect, Inter looked a cut above the rest tonight, albeit against a newly promoted side. Candreva looks like a new man under Conte, already a goal of the season contender. Lukaku and Lautaro looked like a real partnership, even though both of them were lacking sharpness, seemed to know each others movement instinctivley. No way Icardi forces his way back into this squad. Let's hope someone can break Juve's dominance.

Not so.much last season but the two before it Icardi was unplayable, world class. If he plays he'll score, seriously talented.

As much as he is a head goner, I'd love to see him back in action playing regularly. Joy to watch when on form and without doubt unplayable at times.

It's got to do with his issues, not his talent. He's more talented than Lukaku or Lautaro no doubt, but with both of them playing well together there is no way they allow Mauro and all his baggage back into the squad.

The only way he gets near the squad is if the other 2 are playing terrible and not scoring. Going on tonight's performance they seem to have a future together as a partnership, one of them scored whilst the other should've had 2.

Stunning strike from Candreva. Delighted for Lukaku to be off the mark. Going to be tough for Lecce to survive.

I think Inter can push Juve real close this season. Here's hoping.

    Hopefully a decent match

That's probably that... Great turn and finish by Higuain

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Napoli can't even handle a washed up Higuain. They look a total mess at the back. 5 goals conceded in a game & a half.

    Some goal by higuain that

Juve are just in a different level to the rest of the teams unfortunately.

It's like night and day watching this match and that drivel of the AC Milan match

Agreed, Napoli are way off the pace.

Inter looked good Monday albeit against poorish opposition.

Looking forward to seeing the Juve Inter game Oct 6th

Napoli pushing on a bit now but poor in the final third, they'll get caught on the counter if they're not careful

And that is definitely the end of it, nice cut back

Serie A is certainly not boring, incredible

    Lucky win from Juventus.

Think they will drop more points this season. They have quite an old side although a very strong bench tonight.
    De Ligt was awful.

Another incredible 4-3 game in the 7.45 Saturday slot. Juve slightly lucky to get the win but perhaps their dominance in the 1st half just about merited the 3 points. Without Chiellini they looked vulnerable at the back, which gives hope to us fans of the other Serie A teams.

De Ligt looked out of his depth in Serie A, he was pretty much at fault for all 3 of Napoli's goals. There is a clear gulf in class from the Eredivise to Serie A but he's only 20 and Napoli are one of the top teams in the league. He won't be tested like that every week but he still has a steep learning curve ahead of him.

Personally I hope Inter can manage a win tomorrow away at Cagliari, can't let Juve establish a gap even at this early stage of the season.

Felt for Koulibaly watching that go in. That was cruel.

... yet I still know plenty of people who say "Italian football, wouldn't watch that, its boring" cos they believe the EPL is the beginning and end of football.

You'd think it was the catanaccio of the 60s!

Roma 1 up through a Kolarov pen but Lazio hit the post 3 times & twice in the last minute.
Roma just hit the upright for the second time themselves.

Flick this back on to see Pastore come on, I'm amazed Roma haven't hounded him out of the club. Such an absolute rubbish signing by them.

Think Inter were fortunate not to have their goal disallowed, surely Martinez was interfering in play for the own goal.
Cagliari are a weird team. Rog, Nainggolan, Klavan, Olsen, Luca Pellegrini & Nandez. It's a lot of square pegs & I'm unsure if it all fits together.

Vital 3 points for Inter in a tough place to get a win. Another goal for Lukaku, 2 from 2 for him and Inter top of the league, happy days.

Cagliari have lost their last 4 home games. Not overly convincing but you can already tell that Conte is getting through to them. Can see Barella replacing Vecino soon. I bet Conte wishes he had better full backs but Candreva & Asamoah are trying their best in fairness to them.

Milan just swapped Andre Silva for Ante Rebić.

He was great at Eintracht. Forged a very good understanding with Haller and Jovic.

Caught up with the highlights and was pleased Lukaku got one over on those racist idiots. Time for Serie A to do more to stamp this out. Matches behind closed doors and, if necessary, points deductions should be used.

Was impressed with Sassuolo against Samp. De Zerbi is doing well as coach.

Zapata looked very impressive against Torino. Shame Atalanta's defence cost them. They'll need to improve for the Champions League.

Anyone seen that statement by Inter's ultras about the racism Lukaku got from Cagliari fans ?

”When you declare that racism is a problem to be fought in Italy you just help the repression against all football fans including us and you contribute to create a problem that is not really there, not in the way that is perceived in other countries.”

"Hey it's actually your fault for getting offended and the real oppression isn't you getting racially abused by a crowd of people, in fact it's actually YOU oppressing US by saying we're racist and making us look bad"
