Every time I check this thread, I'm hoping someone will have posted somewhere I've been, but I've driven through Mo i Rana (en route to the glacier just north; not sure where we stayed), but recognised neither the train station nor the church. Smh.

The octagonal train station is unusual alright. It's a nod to a lot of older churches in the area, most of them 300 years old and more, they were traditionally built in an octagonal shape.

Reason being they were almost exclusively built out of wood logs, and it's structurally sounder to build large buildings from logs in an octagonal rather than a rectangular shape. Once you go over a certain length per side it loses stability. If they were any bigger they would be 12 sided and so on.

Incidentally, you can find a lot of stone 12 sided churches in central Spain for the same reason.

    Yep! Well done.

The building is the Cathedral of Mother Theresa, for a Muslim country they are very proud of their Catholic cathedral :)
And the statue is obviously Bill Clinton, who they love as they see him as their saviour from the war.

I will say Bonn with the idea that maybe Beethoven lived in that house with the plaque on the wall.
