    Hi Fellow Boaters,

Did anyone online here experience the alarm sound on their mercury optimax and manager to figure it out. Seems like most mechanics dont know.

I heard Mercury did a recall with the ECU ?? Not sure though hence asking here..

    Thanks

A good mercury mechanic with the right diagnostics kit should be able to just plug in and tell you what the alarm is. Not sure it would be the ECU most alarms problems I hear about are down to the oil reservoir sensor or the float sticking in the reservoir.

    Thanks fergal.

I get four alarm beeps in neutral + a continuous one at speed.
How can i unstick the oil reservoir sensor/ stick?

    Thanks

    Hi Fergal,

    Thanks.

A new oil tank - plastic bottle is 550 euros... extortionate is not the word.. and its made in china for about a euro....

A forum for second hard parts would be brilliant. I bet there are thousands fo these sitting in sheds across the world gathering dust or sent to the skip..

    Frustrating...

    brilliant video thanks.
