Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Phil is unbearable, but has nobody seen what MVG has been like this week? Fúcking insufferable.

I don't know whether he's actually bought into his own hype, or whether he's decided this new persona will sell more tickets, but he's been classless all week? Didn't he say Taylor had more chance of winning the lottery than beating him?

    Well done Taylor.

Taylor had a pop at mvg, mardle, and Lewis after winning last night, about stuff nothing to do with the game last night.. he's pathetic.

Mvg was out of order texting vvdv for sure, Vincent should have known better to even say it on TV,they are good friends like.

    Not excusing Taylor.

MVG needs taking down a peg or two though.

his game needs a serious regular challenger, its usually too easy for him,id say he got taught a few lessons last night.

Jesus lads, that's mvgs first loss in a ranking tv tournament since 2015? Can't blame the man for feeling invincible.
I prefer a fella that says what he's thinking not just a political answer

I've no problem with him saying he thinks he'll win.

It's when MVG verges on rude and disrespectful to him opponents where it's an issue for me.

There's no respect between both player's, rivalries are great but childish behaviour by both players is infuriating to watch.

I like a bit of class in players, the reason why Wright is my favourite. Gets up there and plays his game with no nonsense

    taylor is a big child

I don't know whether compare Taylor as your grandad who can has reached an age where he can get away with saying anything or compare him to greats like Jack Nicklaus who remained classy throughout.

I think he just lives in a darting bubble where everything is a Grade 1 political issue.

The Golden Bear was never greeted by a chorus of boos.

Taylor doesn't seem like the most charming person...but who really cares? It's nice when a sport star is modest and pleasant, but unnecessary for me. Maradona came across like a bit of a headless brat, never bothered me, still the greatest.

Great finish from Wright after a terrible attempt at treble 20

Definitely not anywhere near his best but showing some cahones

Great finish from Wright but credit to gurney he keeps battling.

Nervy game, poor doubles but Wright had it in hand when he needed too.

Hoping this one is a classic.

Yeah. Should learn from that semi. He needs to improve/trust his cover shot when he blocks the treble 20. A real prospect.

Fingers crossed for a classic now!

I wonder how Taylor is concocting on how to ruin tonight's great performance with his post match speech.

This is the best Taylor has looked in a long time.

Maybe he'll reveal something very personal that Lewis told him in confidence.

Disgraceful what he said about Van Gerwen last night.

The darts are going in so differently to a couple of months ago. His darts have always gone in almost horizontal, but they had started resting even lower over the last year or 2.

He's punching them in with more authority than we've seen in a long time.

Agreed, should be ashamed of himself.

"Good luck to the finalists in Blackpool tonight. Gutted not to be there but those who deserved it are and I'm sure it will be a great final."

Classy from MVG on Twitter. Which is why his arrogance this week was so mystifying to me.

hopefully he can stay in it , however , i dont think anyone has a right in wining an event as important as the matchplay dressed in his pineapple pajamas

By far and away the biggest difference in Taylor this week is his doubling.

It's properly like the Taylor of old. Clinical.

Has barley had to throw at 19s either.
Wright has to win next session even 3-2 and hope for a dip from Phil.

Wright chokes the first leg. Taylor gets it on the bull.

Some good darts being thrown now by both players.

    105 average.

Trounced Barney, MVG, Lewis and well up here. One of the hardest runs possible to win a tournament.

Hard to believe it's been so long since he won a tv title. Hope he forgets the retirement and plays on if he wins this.

Wright in major finals just hasn't got it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 194 ✭✭jrkb

    Wright completely gone now

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,672 ✭✭✭ElTel

To think Wright got it back to 8-6 at one stage!

The only thing worse than Wright's darts is his outfit.

The GOAT going out at the top. Unreal stuff from Taylor this week.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 194 ✭✭jrkb

Apart from a brief spell Wright didn't show up but fair play to Taylor he had a brilliant tournament.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,045 ✭✭✭✭gramar

Is there drug testing in darts? Taylor should get one. Christ almighty he's been a different class all week.
