I steer clear of anything electrical from them now. Had a couple of things break down within a couple of months and the refund/exchange system is a nightmare. Silvercrest is a front company. Had to go through 2 companies in Germany and 1 in Poland to get a replacement cordless hoover.... which lasted 1 month!

Think angle grinders need a bit of power, certainly the ones that use the larger discs, so not suited to cheap cordless builds. Must say though that I hate the bloody things, useful but by far the most dangerous DIY power tool that I've used and that includes table and chain saws.

I wouldn't have a cordless as the only grinder, they have their uses where a corded one won't reach but imagine how much power one needs compared to a cordless drill.
That said, a premium grinder would have a 5 or 6ah battery compared to the Lidl 3ah one.

I saw tool batteries in Lidl, so I reckon you could interchange them?

I have a dewalt 18v li-ion one and find it very useful, it'll never replace the mains one tho. Gave up on those silvercrest specilals years ago.

mine goes for 3 minutes now full then stops dead, push the button in and goes again few seconds and stops, its a lithium battery but very poor.

why does lidl bother with these poor quality tools as theyre only getting themselves a bad reputation.

nightmare is right, youre passed about by lidl customer services, then eventually to germany, they know nothing there but a courier is then arranged to collect faulty item which never turns up, then back to germany for checking and replacement that can take 4-6weeks, now much use if you need the damn thing quick

That's probably circuitry to prevent the battery discharging too much, which causes damage.
