Spotify Family.. Anyone interested? [Threads Merged] [Mod Note in OP]

Quick question for those who already have this set up. Going to do this with a group of friends, but one of them is going to be living in London fairly soon. Are there any issues for those trying to use it while abroad?

Edit: I would be the main account holder, still living in Ireland. It would be one of the add on users who are abroad.

The person in my group who got locked out because Spotify couldn't confirm his address is after getting locked out again. I set him up after the last ban using a different email address. Anyone have any idea what's going on here? he's not too happy with me but nobody else in the group has got this email.

Hey guys,

probably not the right thread, but i figure someone in here can probably answer my question.

I have a premium account i setup through the playstation, and my brother has his own premium account (not setup through any 3rd party).

My dad has recently started using the free spotify service, and likes it, so is interested in getting premium.

we're thinking it'd be best to setup a family account, and my question is this.
once one person signs up for family account, (in this case my dad), how do myself and my brother go about joining his plan as we already have premium? is there links/emails he would provide us with in order to link to his plan? and would we need to cancel our own separate subs prior to this, or would joining his family plan automatically supercede our current plans?

again, i know it's probably technically not the right thread, but if anyone is likely to know, i reckon it's someone in here.. any help is much appreciated

I got an invote for a family, followed the link and sorted my address. However, when I go into my account nothing comes up about the family account. I cant play any music but am supposely signed as a family member??

I have no idea how this works. And yes I did pay the 30 euro.

Mother in law had one set up with me, her friend, my husband and my daughter. All except her and her friend have been kicked off after receiving emails from Spotify to verify address which we have done and they accepted only to email a few days saying they couldn't verify and we were switched to free accounts.

Happened to me twice now with the same person.

Is it possible that Spotify check the IP location against the main account and can see that they are not in the same locality?

Technically yes, but if you are using the service on a phone then your IP / location will change all the time anyways.
