    Could be stolen or damaged...

Because the thieves have been waiting for years just for this weekend...

Forgetting to renew your insurance is baffling.

It's up there with the Somerton Man in my opinion

Not really - renewal is sent about 6 weeks in advance and usually no reminders.

So much can happen in 6 weeks it can be easy to forget. Has happened to me but just on house insurance.

I've worked in insurance for years and you are not alone here. People are forever forgetting it even despite multiple reminders in some cases.
I would email your provider with an intent to renew and call them first thing on Monday to pay.
    Good luck!

It could well be that you'll save money if you get a new quote. Premiums have come down about 10% in the last few months.

If you're not driving, and you keep your keys in a sensible location, and you're not driving a lamborghini, you stand more chance of winning the lotto than having your car nicked over the weekend. Ignore the boardsie trolls.

    What are you on about....
They said they were concerned themselves I replied to answer a silly question of why would it matter if not using the vehicle.

Things happen every day the car could well be fine but say its worth 10k and it burns or is damaged beyond repair or stolen and never found then where would most come up with the 10k.

    Not trolling at all.

As said sure could be fine for the few days.

I'm marking the card of all the people griefing the OP for forgetting to renew - something that could potentially happen to the best of us under the right circumstances. I've no idea why you think I'm singling you out!

What about the reminder you set yourself?

No insurance means no cover for those.

I guess you are glass half empty person so. :pac:

The only solution I can see is to get a shotgun on black market, put a garden chair beside your car, get a flask of coffee and get ready for the long night, because everyone going to try to set your car on fire tonight.

Jokes a side. If you not planing on driving, then you will survive for 2 days. If you got another car in household, then park it up that way, so that your car would be blocked in. If you are that paranoind.

Honestly, unless you living in some really dodgy part of the country and have lambo outside your house, then I would not worry.

    So OP any update?

Over the weekend all phone numbers called lead to the same RSA message that stated that the office was closed so had to wait until Monday morning to renew, when I spoke to a nice lady in Bank of Ireland insurance services who renewed my insurance at the quoted premium no questions asked.

Furthermore the car wasn't stolen, burnt out, damaged or the autonomous driving functionality didn't erroneously kick in and take my car for a spin over the weekend, so I'm happy. Thanks for the advice

The theft or fire should not be the main reason to have motor insurance...
