GPS navigation using router

    I am developing my college project which is based on the smart airport.
    The basic idea is developed an Android application which helps the user to navigate to the different gates or boarding point according to traffic and distance.
    I research about this and I think it can be possible with multiple routers and then it can be done if somehow I can calculate the distance of the user's from every router and then apply shortest path algorithm.
    Can anyone help me with this?

    Indoor positioning is a big growth area at the minute. Heavy hitters like Qualcomm (iZAT) are working on it.


    802.11 signals arent consistent enough for positioning, for example GPS signals vary slightly from air to a cloud so 600ns becomes 600.1ns, with 2.4Ghz through walls 100ns could become 150ns which would destroy your distance reckoning.


    The real solutions for this problem use their own beacons, you should research them. IIRC even Apple tried it.
