Other than MacDonald and Tom Prendergas whom I know I have no clue of the others.

    Who are they ?

Conor fin is the strength and conditioning coach he was there with rochford and with horans last term
Young lad very good at his job players have a lot of respect for him.

Looks like a cost saving back room management team compared to some recent ones. Be interesting to see will Horan do the 4 years he is given and where Mayo will be in 4 years as some rebuilding is certainly needed.

Apparently Bourke is to train the Dublin based players.

Shame Mcdonald isn't confirmed. Might have coached some of our attackers to score from out the field.

Wouldn't be surprised if Horan took the gig for just a year, one last heave with the current crew...doubt he'd be up for a big rebuilding job.

Looks like I'm standing corrected here. If he's taking the job for four years you'd have to think he's genuine about "bringing through emerging talent."

Wouldn't be getting too caught up on the length of the agreement of his stay, after all Rochford this time last year was given a two year extension only to walk away half way through it. Management is a result business and Horan on his return will be no different in that regard.

I'd say to do administration work like dealing with county board, travel plans etc. Horan probably wants a more hands on coaching role.

    Is there not always one?

Not quite the stellar backroom that was rumoured.

It is disappointing no role could be found for Michael Solan in the setup if he was willing to get involved.

Irrespective of the dangers of two chiefs...

Wasn't there one previously? Plus this is a part of every decent county setup these days.

Not any more impressive than what Rochford had initially proposed, which is what sticks out for me. Strong north mayo influence sticks out also.

I'm also disappointed Mike Solan wasn't given a place. I thought his stepping away from the nomination might have been an indication that he was approached to be involved under Horan to learn the ropes. Not to surprised McDonald is not there, didn't think he'd be keen on a high profile gig, although I'm aware there are still some more people to be announced.

Never taken any heed before, I'd know Seamus so thats why it probably stands out more.

Tom Prendergast was a selector for Horan in his previous reign.

    He's a fellow Ballintubber man.

Oh I get that, but you'd have to think that Horan himself is hoping and intending to do the full four years in the job and that he fully appreciates that many/most of his 2011-14 team won't be round for the latter part of that tenure.

Interesting backroom team. All in the game and would know the club scene well. Gotta trust Horan i'm sure he knows what each can bring. I would say a few tweaks to the current panel for year one while at the same time having a big development squad getting up to speed with S&C etc. Depending on results in year one you could see a massive change of players for year two. Could be the start of a 2/3 year plan.

The appointment is perfect timing before the county semi's on Saturday night. Plenty of new and old county players on view, you could say the trials start on Saturday! potentially plenty of county standard match ups

    Vaughan v Gibbons
    McDonagh v COC
    P Durkan v DOC
    J Durkan v Coleman
    Newcombe v Dillon

    C O Shea v Drake
    Ruane v Hanley
    Hall v Moran

Id expect a huge crowd to be in McHale Park.

Between 3k and 4k maybe. The evening matches under lights make for a great atmosphere. Also three very local teams involved.

    Yip can't wait.

    I'm expecting a bumper crowd.

Love the games under the lights on a Saturday evening.

No Carnacon mention today. The "girls" will feel neglected. Perhaps they should call a press conference to say how under appreciated they feel. No one is giving them any respect

Crossmolina relegated to intermediate by Moy Davitts despite being five points up at half time.

    0-17 to 1-13.

I think McDonald might be concentrating on matters closer to home now.
